There has been a lot of political talk that 2010 might resemble 1994, or the reverse of 2006-2008, or maybe 1982, when unemployment was over 10 percent for 10 months and Ronald Reagan lost 26 House seats.
In the summer and fall of 1980, I was in Idaho, helping manage Frank Churchs re-election bid, and we had been watching the tsunami building all year long. We ran the toughest campaign possible, lost by just 4,000 votes, but knew there was a large group of endangered species out there as we called ourselves: Church, McGovern, Culver, Bayh, Nelson, Stewart, Magnuson, et al. The shock wasnt that individual Democrats were in danger but just how many there were and that the Senate could actually switch to a Republican majority. Democrats lost 12 seats that year and there were 18 new senators in January of 1981.
The record for new senators after an election is 20. Right now, with Lisa Murkowskis loss, that number is already going to be at least 15, with three incumbents defeated and another dozen retiring.

Probably; if the GOP saves the country, they’ll probably save 0bama’s sorry anti-American ass along with it kind of like Clinton after ‘94.
and USN&WR will still be publishing in 2012...
At least Clinton was actually eligible to sit in the Oval Office.
I’ll take it anyway, but I don’t believe it. This will happen only if the RINOs are allowed to ride roughshod.
Who will go TU first? USW&NR, Time or Newspeak?
nobama’s only victory will be escaping the tar and feathers.
If Obama really does become a moderate with a GOP controlled Congress, then it will, also, become much more difficult to defeat Obama in ‘12. It will be up to Obama what happens next.
It COULD also lead to Barry being thrown out on his *** by the voters. So I guess this article is really irrelevant. But hey! If it makes the commie libs feel good about themselves by reading this garbage, what the heck.
Can anyone figure out a way to limit or severely curtail GOP gains in 2010? Anyone? How about you, pissant?
The GOP probably can, but I’m hoping they don’t.
Right.
We know where Clinton was born and a few other things about him too. We know he drove an El Camino.
Yes but it's not only about the top of the ticket in 2012. If Republicans win big and don't advance conservative policy immediately, they become extinct.

A few other possibilities:
The situation is much like 1994. Obama has his opportunity for redemption, but I don't think he is willing to compromise. On the other hand, the Republicans can screw this up by not focusing on the economy and getting the government out of the way of all employers, large and small.
That's ridiculous. He can't energize the base, he can't inspire new voters, and everyone I know is getting real sick of the race card being played by his most ardent supporters.
Obama’s way ahead of Clinton. Obama got Obamacare. Two SCOTUS justices already. Looks like cap and trade is gonna go the way of the BTU tax, but you never know. Ok, so Obama and Congress are gonna pay a political price. So what? You send your army into battle, you expect to take some losses, especially on bold moves. So they’ll take some losses. Obama and DEMs won a lot already.
Oh no, we all better vote Democrat to head off that catastrophe /s
