More and more evidence indicates that most of the oil and gas in the ground are produced naturally within the Earth's crust as a byproduct of plate tectonics. SO SHUT UP ALREADY!

If Iran and Iraq could have the same modern production methods and refineries found in the West, these two countries could just lap the rest of the Persian Gulf states in terms of oil production and known oil reserves. And there are potential oil fields in eastern Siberia and the Spratly Islands between Vietnam and the Philippines that have yet to be exploited.
