It is in relatively shallow water (less than 500 feet).

Only one injured at this point.

*What other eexplanation?????
It's Bush's fault.*

Racism. That's all they have in their quiver.

However, they have painted the racism arrow and call it “intolerance” hoping to make us think they actually have 3 answers at their command.

Let’s see, oil rigs blowing up regularly and a birage of news stories claiming Illegal Immigrant population way down (which is a lie). Looks like the Obama administration is on target for our destruction.

"The activists first scaled the oil rig Stena Don on Tuesday. They attached hanging platforms to the underside of the rig where they camped out in tents with self-heating meals until last night. "

Hey, I've done that. Only I was being paid by Brown & Root to do it.

The key factor is the massive stock investment by Soros into Ford Motor Company in preperation for the "Ford Flinstone". Now, Obama just needs to declare the "Age of Oil is over" and bingo ...

Those are all owned by private companies. Companies domiciled in the United States, but private, so those are not federal property.

So they’re not “our” rigs. They belong to H&P, or used to. Now they belong to Chavez.

Some OLD infomation:

>>”Two exploratory wells and one development well were
successfully drilled at the Vermilion 380 field (100% working interest). These
wells commenced production in October 1999 at an average rate of 1,200 barrels
of oil equivalent per day...”

I should have better documeented that statement, but, yes, I am sure that’s what I have heard. I think it applies to deepwater drilling. There has been drilling in the GOM for decades and it has been pretty free of “accidents” like this until DH. I am looking for the actual documentation.

Right now it’s the GM “Flintstone”, but I’m sure he’ll nationalize Ford as well before it’s over.

It’s the only reasonable answer. To the left. This is Fox-worthy:

If you don’t believe in nuking your enemies, but do believe in nuking your domestic energy production capacity, you might be a Socialist.

It took them 100 days to plug the whole at the BP spill, this could be a lot worse.

According to local news, it's a non producing, shut-in well. No leak, no spill, no sheen. No deaths. Still burning. They were sanding and welding and-boom.

This lends credence to the conspiracy theories in my opinion.

Our nation is under attack. Our rigs are being sabotaged! What other eexplanation?????

What else is there to think? Now the main issue is that we have no trust in those in power to investigate.

When I worked offshore, I worried more about the acetylene gas canisters than anything else. Except maybe cranes and headache balls.

Yeah, nobody every started a fire while welding...

And a fire never led to an explosion on a oil platform.

How could it be anything other than a terrorist attact?

We once had a group of “worker” launching acetylene bottles into the Mississippi. They were knocking the valves off them while mounted on an upward angle skid.

Stupid doesn’t begin to describe them.

I’d say I’m 99% sure it was an accident. Or a stupi-dent. I’m also 100% sure that Obama will use this to harm the industry.
