CNBC's Najarian: Drilling Moratorium 'Shows a Tone-Deafness From This Administration'
NewsBusters ^ | 9/2/10 | Jeff Poor

With a 9.6 percent unemployment rate overall in the United States and unemployment rates showing an uptick in states on the Gulf of Mexico that allow offshore oil drilling, one has to wonder what the Obama administration is thinking its Draconian wide-sweeping moratorium halting deepwater drilling in the Gulf after the BP oil spill. While environmentalists are using today's explosion on a oil production platform in the Gulf to support a drilling moratorium, critics like CNBC's "Fast Money" panelist Jon Najarian have questioned the wisdom of the Obama administration's decision to put up to 75,000 in limbo.

Unfortunately, we lost a second Gulf rig this afternoon. Makes the zero look right ... for a change.

For the first time?

Most do not realize what a huge amount of money the “environmentalists” (drop out 1960s commies) put upon the DemoRAT party to carry forth their hate-America policies. None of this is any surprise. And it is nothing new. It is always all about power and votes for the Dems. They have no care for America really since the early seventies when they began their campaign to ruin this country and rule over the ashes.

There was a fire on a platform.

I read on threads this afternoon that those kind of accidents happen all the time in industry, that it was NO biggie.

A fire, NOT an explosion.

A fire on a PLATFORM, not a rig explosion.

Really? I say let's get a few more facts before we judge.

Almost coincidental, the day after the moratorium was struck down. I do not believe this administration is above a Reichstag fire or two -- not that I believe that that's the case here. Yet.

NOT a rig. This was a production platform. This platform is what was is left after the drilling rig is moved to a new site. All seven wells have been closed down. No problems.
This type of fire happens many times on land and not a word in the national media.

Concur, concur with your corrections.

Please note I only said today's fire makes him “look right” about his ban on drilling and exploration (to most of the MSM-sucking public -

I didn't say that it makes him actually right. 8<)

As an east Texan & not in the oil business, I can say many non-union steel fitters, machinist, drill bit manufacturers & many others, not counting the off-shore jobs are gone.

LOL

LOL @ Robert A. Cook, PE

>>>> "....the MSM-sucking public." <<<<

Frankly, with the exception of a small percentage of the well employed, I think that a great proportion of the population is deeply concerned with Barry trying to destroy the oil industry of the Gulf Coast and with it the jobs of tens of thousands of American workers.

But the MSM will totally downplay such a fact....

Oh, the administration is understanding signals quite well. Why, it was only hours from the last of their attempts was slapped down to the next rig blew up.
