Different law comes into play. That would then be a trespass if you asked him to leave and he didn’t. If he’s carrying something you personally object to, you can ask him to leave. Or you can ask him to leave whether he’s carrying anything or not. But private property that’s open to the public is a completely different matter and the SCOTUS has ruled on that, too. People can indeed exercise their 1A rights on private property open to the public (shopping malls being the most common example).
The SCOTUS has also ruled a bazillion times that political speech is protected, although limitations may apply when the speech has been paid for as a function of a campaign (Campaign Finance Reform vestigial regulations). “Impeach Obama” and an unpaid for boost for Larouche would be completely protected under the 1A on private property open to the public.
Private property open to the public is treated much differently under the law than your own private residential property.
Think shopping malls.

I remember when people along Bush parade routes were told they had to move to designated “free speech zones” if they were wearing protest shirts or holding protest signs. It caused quite a lot of controversy, with one member of Congress saying that in his opinion, all of America was a “free speech zone.” As I understand it, the directive did not come from Bush or his people, but from the Selective Service who felt these people might be a security risk. It’s a crazy country we live in these days. The imperial presidency, eh?

I really don’t care if somebody wants to follow a nutty felon but... When I read a news story that says they got in a scuffle with security or law enforcement, my bias is in favor of anyone but the Larouche nutbag.
I’ll have to see some definitive proof that the Larouche nutbag didn’t bring this on himself before I’ll badmouth the LEO or security people.

I shake mine less, more than forty years ago I was trying to warn people and nobody took the threat seriously. Now I am just watching the fulfillment of what I saw coming long ago.
I am LESS AND LESS amazed with every passing day. If the nation should manage to turn around and restore some semblance of freedom I WILL be amazed again. No more than three of four years ago I was roasted on FR for daring to say that America is no longer a free country. Such a short time later and that seems to be an accepted fact now.
A theater is a more appropriate example.
Nothing gives you the right to enter a theater and disrupt the show for paying customers, violating the terms of entrance.
I am dismayed, thus my action. You are correct in it has been changed over the last few decades, I agree. In the last few years it has picked up momentum. Come November I hope ‘we the people’ can stop its advance at decimating America.

Just in case you don’t know, the Larouche people are not in it for the free speech aspect. They are in for the money. They will support any position no matter how silly, (example: A few years back they were holding signs in downtown DC accusing the Queen of England of being a drug smuggler). Once they have your interest, they present you with a magazine that is nothing but a way to get money out of your pocket.
I believe Larouche was found guilty of credit card fraud some years back. Think of the Larouche bunch as the Westwood Babtist Church.
I’ve seen the IMPEACH OBAMA set up a few times in my area.
A month or so ago, in a neighboring town (suburban Bergen County NJ) and just a week ago, in my own town of Allendale,
an upscale town with a pretty and well kept business district. I was surprised to see the IMPEACH OBAMA sign
(featuring a pic of Obama with a Hitler moustache) and the table set up, and this time I was determined to see what the material on the table was and who was sponsoring this.
I got as far as seeing the words Lyndon LaRouche and saw that these were people I couldn’t engage in a conversation.
I turned around and walked away, noticing a local woman taking a picture with her cellphone.
Surprisingly, the LaRouche table was setup right in front of the POST OFFICE!
