Reporter doesn't seem to know the difference between a Glock and an AR-15.
Has the constable ever heard of a gun safe?

The day before he left town, Selvidge said, he pulled two men over for a traffic stop then took them back to his house and paid them to work on his car.
WTF WTF WTF?!?!?!?!?! Who the F does this?!?!? This guy needs to be fired STAT. Why the F would you bring anyone you have a law enforcement contact with back to your place to do anything? If this happened at my PD I'd be done. I mean, seriously, this is just astronomically stupid. Where the F are departments getting their officers from? Summer school and the backlots of grocery stores?

I bet the dogs stole them, that is why cops have to shoot dogs.

On a side-note......
Two dangerous guns are in the hands of criminals
Is there a gun out there that ISN'T dangerous, or CAN'T be dangerous? I'm only asking because apparently "Glock 23 rifles and a .40 caliber pistols" are the only dangerous guns that are out there according to the dumba$$ reporter who wrote this article.
This reminds me of the article where supposedly a squad of Marines shot up a houseful of poor Iraqis and the article had a picture of an old Iraqi hag holding up unfired 5.56 rounds and she's quoted as saying that those were some of the bullets fired at her house (or something like that).

I'd say this inquiry needs to begin with Constable Selvidge submitting to a urinalysis to determine whether it's crank, crack or opiates he's addicted to.

Heck, for 100 bucks you can buy a gun cabinet.
Not a safe exactly, but locked, pretty heavy duty steel, nobodies gonna get into it with spending at least an hour with a cutting tool and making a hellacious amount of noise in the process!
Stack-On makes a couple good varieties.

sux for the officer.
after the atf rectal examination and the district attorneys detailed forensic autopsy of his financial records going back a decade, and the fbi ransack of his wife's pantydrawer, and the irs and anyone else getting in on the puppy pile...
things will be just fine.
who can say, we must suspect every man today.
tis the new order.

"The AR 15, it's an assault-type rifle. It will fire quite a few rounds quite fast, so that's one of the weapons we are particularly worried about," said Johnson. A detective said this? How many morons are employed as police officers anyway?

I knew a guy that was going through a nasty divorce, his wife left the house and he looked all over for his gun...he called her and she said she had taken it....
He called the police and they took a report with her name. According to the cop, his gun was not part of any property she was legally welcome to and in fact she broke the law stealing a gun registered to another person..
He called her again and said he made a report. The gun was still in the house but she had put it in the attic....and now she was afraid the cops would come after her so she told him where she hid it....
Its just an FYI in the state of Michigan. If a soon to be X steals your gun, she can get arrested for having a gun in her possession that is not registered to her..
He called the cops back and told them the gun had been found.

LOL, I’m gonna head to the nearest gun show this weekend and buy me a Glock 23 rifle!
