Aiken (SC) GOP censures Graham

AIKEN -- The Aiken County Republican Party has approved a formal censure of U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.

The party's executive committee took the action Thursday, joining a handful of other county parties, including Greenville's GOP.

Committee member Pete Seaha, who also is the Aiken County Tea Party chairman, wrote the resolution and introduced it at the meeting. The resolution states in part that Graham won't be invited to any party meetings or events.

"I don't believe the senator is sticking to conservative Republican principles," said Seaha. "In my mind, the senator has disrespected his constituents. He has said publicly on a talk show that he didn't care what they thought."

Seaha said it was his understanding that 18 people on the executive committee supported the resolution, while two opposed it and two abstained.

Unfortunately, no.

That’s very unfair. Linda herself has stated, “I ain’t gay.” Do you think she would deliberately lie?

Clearly part of the intellectually impenetrable, dimwitted permanent RAT constituency!

Your Republican neighbors in Georgia have wondered for several years why you keep electing this RINO to the US Senate???

upchuck,
Can I ask what good these little smack downs do? This jerk is going to do what he wants. He’s not ever going to run again and lose to any and everyone.
Why doen’t the good folks of the beautiful state of South Carolina impeach his sorry rino ass?

*Michele Bachmann would be a good choice, no?*

Of course, it should be her. She is the leader now anyway. The rest of them, with a few exceptions, are gutless eunics.

Lindsey didn't show signs of being a raging RINO until he got to the Senate. Many of us tried to oust him in 2008 but the power of incumbency and a state party infested with dusty, old former democrats and RINOs ensured his re-election. He is very lucky not to be up this cycle, I am hopeful that we can keep up this momentum until '14.

Instead of just sencuring the fag, recall him.

There must be a mechanism for removing an elected official who goes nuts.

Lindsey has publicly stated he pays little attention to the desires of his constituents. Thia is one way for us to fight back. If he won't pay attention to us, we won't publicly pay attention to him.

He’s not ever going to run again...

Oh yeah he will. The man's(?) ego is boundless. He's a typical smart-ass RINO. He will run again. And be defeated in the primary. We're watching and recording. He won't stand a chance.

Why doen’t the good folks of the beautiful state of South Carolina impeach his sorry rino ass?

First, thanks for the kind words. I've been here since 2003 and absolutely love everything about SC, even the hot summers.

As to your statement, I don't know if that's possible, I suspect it is not. If it were possible I'm sure somebody would have tried it by now. South Carolinians are NOT HAPPY with Grahamensty.

Actually I think, the speaker is chosen by a majority vote. Usually the party with the most members. Sometimes deals are made, I suspect.

“shame Graham was not up for re-election this year and not in 2008, we’d have tea-partied his ass into oblivion.”

LOL...and true.

(I don’t think I’ve ever seen Tea Party used as a verb before, btw- but I like it)

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I’ve been here since the day I was born 66 years ago and I absolutely HATE the summers! This past few weeks I have been looking at real estate ads in the WV mountains. I honestly don’t know how I survived to adulthood working in the fields all summer every summer. I LITERALLY grew up walking all day long behind a mule in scorching sun every blazing SC summer. Frankly I wonder about the mental condition of anyone who likes South Carolina summers ;>) The other three seasons are fantastic though, I love cooking out in December, not July. We have just enough cold weather to make me appreciate those sixty degree days even more.
