Unemployment stands at 9.6% and everyone knows it’s higher, so why would people want to elect the very party that put them out of work?

This is great news. Matthews is freaking out over the coming washout for Dems. He has appointed himself defacto advisor-at-large to Dem candidates and is spewing idiotic ‘helpful hints’ as to how the Dems can save themselves and the country from the ravages of (gasp) conservatives (shudder) who are massing at the gates with guns, God and hate.

This is correct. But muawiyah (post #19) also has a point in that a lot of people can’t even qualify for unemployment under the rules of the Obamao economy. Mrs. Vigilanteman worked seasonally, which worked out great when the kids were in school. But since Obamao came into office, she can’t even get that type of work. The full timers at the type of places where she worked before have been cut back so far that they can easily absorb those seasonal hours where she used to work and she didn’t work enough hours to qualify for unemployment.
