You can stop wondering.
I have no problem with muslims. I have a problem with anyone who wants to secede from the country to run their own governments and blow things up when angered and hide behind religion to do it. If Christians, Jews, Amish, Hindus, or Zoroastrians did that, I’d have a problem with them too.
It’s not who they are that bothers me. It’s what they do.
There is a very simple reason that there is growing animosity towards mulsims in this country, and it's directly cause by their complaints that we're insensitive to their feelings, while at the same time, sticking a red-hot poker in our collective eye. Why is it that they can't be sensitive to America's feelings?

Most-if not all—Muslim leaders only started to talk about ‘terrorism’ when their respective countries were attacked by Al Qaeda, couple years after 9/11. Before that, they were quiet, and seemed to agree with the attackers.
Sure. But you have to agree that the rule of law and Constitutional rights take precedence over Sharia.
Seeing how the NYT doesn't even think Christians belong here, it's an odd question. (And I'm an atheist.)
There is no such thing as a muslim-American.
Two words that are incompatible.
Just as there is no such thing as a Christian-American.
It really is time to go after the whore writers, and make it personal.
Most of us here are armed and ready to fight against Sharia Law. If these clowns want Sharia Law, I suggest they move back to the 3rd world Islamic Hell-hole they came from.
If these folks are sincere, then they must recognize that this work is being undone by the defiance of the Muslims whose claims of wanting to belong are absurd.
It's not the opposition that's undoing this, it's the audacity of a religion welcomed here as all beliefs are giving a middle finger to the rest of us at the sight of our most tender wound.
If you're looking for someone to blame, Muslims, look to your own, who claim to want to assimilate and then do PRECISELY what someone who wants anything BUT that would do.
Was I asleep when American Muslims were vociferously protesting their fellow muslim’s actions on 9/11??? Because I can only seem to remember being CONSTANTLY hectored about how I need to be more TOLERANT of Muslims. Guys, seriously, forget it. The normal American will never accept you , even the leftists. Your culture is garbage, your tolerance is nonexistant and fankly you’re a bunch of thin skinned crybaby assholes.
The problem is that periodically a young Muslim man will become devout, and become a true believer in Islam, and people will die horribly.
That never goes away in Islam.
....insult us some more. That’ll make us like you....
They won’t belong because they don’t belong. Their ideology is hateful. We don’t want to stone people, decapitate them, amputate extremities, etc. They need to return to their beloved whatever it is that they love.
It’s easy if you want to belong...
Bring us the head of Osama Bin Ladin..
The reward would finance the building of a really nice mosque.
I’d be one of the first visitors, probably leave a donation.

Ditto this!
The senseless murder of nearly 3000 citizens on 9/11, the murder of 13 soldiers at Ft. Hood and two more shot, one killed in Arkansas has a few Americans a wee bit concerned too.
Cry me a river, but when American Muslims stand up and oust those that do these dastardly deeds from their midst's, I'll feel more like accepting them.
A man I work with told me that his teenage child was told by a Muslim friend that what the NAZIs did was good. This occurred in a prosperous middle-class suburb if NYC.
I wonder who taught that Muslim child to admire NAZIsm? It’s very unfortunate, but not hard to figure out.
