Much ado about nothing. Had to watch the video two times before noticing the photo in question.
Everything Robert Byrd did was an insult to this country. But, wait, he only donned that sheet to get elected...so according to the MSM it was okay.
True. Does that remind you of anyone? How about Islamic Rage Boy?
Complaining about the one second image of a bunch of marxists at aklansman’s funeral shows how scared they are. This race could end up being another Boxer/Reid/Fiengold?Murray race.
After paying the salary of Robert Byrd for all these years, it is fair to say that we, the US taxpayers, own all the rights to his likeness and we can do with it what we please.
Surely he is NOT going to withdraw the ad is he?
Ewe! Case closed. And please don’t post her photo again.
Byrd brains....
The old Klansman knew how to bring home the pork, and his vanity is everywhere in the state.
The Birdklanman is an insult to the United States.
Screw him and his family, and may raccoons take a smelly Obama on his grave.
Unfortunately, it probably won't happen as long as the fires burn bright
This attack is against Rease’s campaign. Rease is making big strides against Manchin, who is easily within striking distance. Rease’s ads are short, professional, and hard hitting, showing pictures of Manchin all chummy with Osambo. No one would even know the setting of the still shots unless you would have watched that pathetic aggrandizement of a liberal bigots life. This so called uproar is the scummy family trying to help out another scummy family in their time of distress. Joe Manchin can’t say anything about the use of the picture but the poor little family members can. Hey, elites were coming to get ya. Rockefeller you’re next.
Exactly. When I first read this story, I did a search to find the ad. The photo is on the screen for a couple seconds, and there is absolutely nothing to show it was a memorial service— especially since Obama and the candidate look all smiley and happy. To hear Byrd’s family talk about it, you would have thought they superimposed the candidate’s head over Byrd’s casket or something. Talk about a fuss over nothing! Of course, the media gives absolutely no context about the ad... typical lazy reporting that somehow just seems to help the democrat spin... who would have seen that coming?
Sounds like they are making an issue out of nothing. This reminds me of 2006 when Jim Webb was running in VA and had images of President Reagan in his ads, implying some kind of endorsement from beyond the grave. Mrs Reagan was offended and asked that the ads be withdrawn and they were not. So the Byrd family has even less to complain about.
No kidding? Byrd would have been nearly 90 at the time, correct? And of course, the liberals always made age off-limits in their campaigns, didn't they? I guess they figure the attacks on President Reagan didn't count!
After all the crap they’ve done to Palin’s family (and I’m not even a Palin supporter), they can stick it where the sun don’t shine.
Exactly.
The ad by Republican John Raese's campaign seeks to link President Barack Obama to Gov. Joe Manchin by displaying an image of the two Democrats at the state Capitol ceremony marking Byrd's June 28 death.
