Well Willie a lot people where buying a homes and good stuff so I guess people where flipping burgers was making a lot of money..

That's IT!!!

Let's bring back Dubya's housing bubble and import a gazillion illegal aliens to build a bunch of McMansions again.
Then when the bubble bursts when they can't pay their mortgages, we'll have another opportunity to bail out our masters who are "too big to fail."

Gee, thanks Kevin!
What a great idea!!!
I wish I had thought of that!!!

POTUS Obama is braindead, as is the Democrat Party!!! You have two choices this November 2, 2010, Election Day. Vote Democrat and continue America’s destruction as Obama, the America hater wishes for, or....vote Conservative/Republican and get this nation moving positive again and out of the hands of “anti-American” POTUS Obama and his “Hate America”, destructive Democrat Party!!! REMEMBER NOVEMBER!!! Totally destroy the “Traitor” Democrat Party at the polls!!!

Just great. As if the GSEs haven’t and aren’t continuing to wreak enough havoc in housing and a government takeover of student lending weren’t unnecessary and bad enough—we introduce a government ‘infrastructure bank’! Boy, can that guy read the mood of the electorate, or what?

Bush was more of a policy disaster than most Freepers like to admit.

the Obama administration is trying to convince voters that Democratic policies can lead the way out of the country's deepest recession in 70 years

That's funny, considering that it was "Democratic policies" that got us into the deepest recession in 70 years.

They are still sitting on at least 50 billion of the original trillion dollar stimulus plan. Why not use that? Or is that Obama’s reelection stash?

Can someone please wake up the GOP and tell them it is high time to start speaking out against the left’s messiah.

How? The Republicans speak out all the time but the media doesn't cover it. The Democrats say the Republicans never offer any ideas of their own. That is BS. The Democrats control the process and won't give the Republicans an opportunity to amend legislation and they ignore anything the Republicans try to introduce. When Republicans speak out on the floor no mention is made in the media, except Fox News.

Then many Republicans turn on their own, giving the Left a double victory.

The Bush administration gave tax breaks to everyone and tax rebates to everyone but the problem with paying for it was that he allowed the Rats to manipulate the terms as in giving even non-taxpayers the rebates.

Most freepers are idealogues.

Myself, I acknowledge that there are ideal conservative fiscal policies but also know that the fed bank and govt can manipulate the money supply to extend economic expansions and shrink economic contractions. Minimize the peaks and the valleys.

Deja vu.

This big idea was also his schtick with all the other stimulus packages.

I’d prefer they stick to keeping the dollar level. They’ve shown themselves to be a primary cause of peaks and valleys when they attempt more.

"giving even non-taxpayers the rebate"

If the goal is to stimulate the economy, it doesn't matter who you give the money to, in fact, it is better to give the money to all people to stimulate all segments of the economy.

But many observed and complained that all the Bush stimulus money was spent at Walmart, stimulating the Chinese economy.

Rebates are bogus short-term flourishes—whether they go just to taxpayers or to everyone. Long-term, steady, low rates (and constrained spending) are all that is needed or effective.

Oh, and the Bushies did what they did in part because they learned the wrong, selfish lesson from the Reagan era: that spending supposedly didn’t matter as long as taxes were low.

Don’t hold back nobama and you DIM/LIB moonbat fools. $50,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,001 sounds even better. Heck...why not just give everyone a printing press for hundreds? Happy times are here again.
