Talk to anyone currently there, on the ground, in Afghanistan or Iraq, with Special Operations Forces or Intel. Anything that can be used, will be used as propaganda against us. We are trying to hold together government institutions comprised of people who are scared for their safety, and legitimately concerned that Obozo the incompetent will pull our troops out precipitously leaving them in the lurch. They have sophisticated propaganda operations, and as soon as this happens, there will be videos all over youtube and a hundred other sites.

Overnight, a new crop of suicide bombers will be created - and we can thank these idiots, with their little temper tantrum that accomplishes nothing.

Been there (OCONUS-AF), done that with the CNP-AF, MoI-AF, Blackwater, SOF, etc. And yes, I have stories.

And I call BS on your prognostication.

They have sophisticated propaganda operations...there will be videos all over youtube and a hundred other sites.

Are you still talking about our theater of operations in AF or ar you talking about the Islamo-nutjobs in general? And can you address ANY of the problems I saw in your little scenario from the previous post or are you stuck on this mischaracterization of what is happening over there?

Again, your description for AF is laughable. YouTube? LOL!!

Our safehouse had an extremely costly satellite link out of Hong Kong just to get barely broad-band internet speeds and we had to fight just for enough bandwidth at 2AM to Skype friends and relatives back home - yet you invision your typical illiterate AF goat herder surfing youtube videos?

The "network" connection in the Qandahar police station consisted of a Brit wandering across the street (in daylight) with a flash drive, downloading what needed to be transmited over the network, wandering back to his camp and uploading it over their sat link.

get real.

. . . considers it part of his responsibility as President to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they occur.

I wonder where those "negative stereotypes" come from.

World Trade Center

Beirut, American Embassy

Embassy in Tanzania

Someone should do something about the source of those stereotypes. Perhaps if our dead voters and ACORN elected someone who could connect with those who hate freedom . . . there would be no need for violence, and we could have "peace for our time" and an end to the stereotype.

Obama being himself.

A small set of Korans are burned half a planet away by a small group of people no one has heard of, and you think that subsistence cave dwellers are going to view all of this on their 60" plasma TVs, turn to each other, cancel the picnic and peace rally with the coalition troops and order up from the Iranians bombs to kill Americans.

It will be on al Jazeera within minutes of the video showing up on youtube. Have you no understanding of global media?

BS. The Islamic extremists don't need Christians burning Korans to piss them off. All they need are Christians breathing free or living in freedom outside of Sharia to send them into violent rages.

They want you dead simply because you are not a Muslim. And if you are a Muslim, they want you dead because you are not the right kind of Muslim.

Do you think all the suicide bombers in Pakistan that are killing other Muslims are doing it because those Muslims burned a Koran? No they did it BECAUSE ISLAM IS A SATANIC DEATH CULT!!

I agree it's a pointless and stupid. This "pastor" is obviously intending provocation, and I don't understand why the media give this stuntman the publicity he craves.

IF ASKED, the best any president could have done would have been to remark that he personally disagrees with it, but the U.S. rightly does not have anti-blasphemy laws. We have a broad arena of expressive liberty, and our citizens are free to engage in offensive symbolic actions, and to deplore, oppose, or refute them.

Using your logic, the media couldn’t and didn’t do any harm to our troops when they fabricated the koran-in-the-toilet myth because muslims are already maxed out in violence and that little spike in violence was just random coincidence and not because the media fanned the flames.

I think it would be fun to do an experiment. Lets get two people in a mid to large sized city, a koran and a bible. At the exact same time, in two different parts of town, let’s have one person set fire to a bible in front of a Christian church and one set fire to a koran in front of a mosque. We will have two other people call the cops at exactly the same time and say exactly the same thing, “A guy in a brown jacket is burning something in front of St. John’s Baptist Church on Elm St. right now!” and the other caller calls and says, “A guy in a brown jacket is burning something in front of the Mohammad Mosque on Main St. right now!”

Both events are filmed and both calls recorded. See what happens. See who gets charged with what. Have it set up ahead of time to put it on the local evening news and let the whole thing go viral. In fact, have it co-ordinated to do the same thing in about 10 cities at the same time, all of them all at the same time.

They’d be OK with it if the korans were, instead, American flags.

And to declare war on everyone who strives for office.

If no korans are burned, you are saying that muslims will love us?

If courts affirm we have the freedom to burn the flag, then by God we also have the right to burn korans.....or use them as toilet paper.

It's not the job of the US government to decide what is or is not offensive to the religious sensibilities of any group ~ not the Papacy, not the Moslems, not the Mormons, not the Church of the First Born, not......

The Constitution sets out what the US government may do, and that's just not in there.
