No Need for God? Stephen Hawking Defies Divine Creation
Professor Stephen Hawking is a remarkable human being. His courage and tenacity are an inspiration to all. His work on the theory of gravity has changed the way the field of physics is taught. But, when he crosses that border from science to theology, his worldview leads him into abject disaster.

By any measure, Stephen Hawking is one of the most famous and influential figures in modern science. For thirty years, he served as Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, and his career before and after his decades in that post is the stuff of scientific legend. He is also probably the longest-living person ever to be diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis [ALS], and the very fact that he has been productive since that diagnosis at age 21 is a testimony to his sense of personal mission and sheer determination.
Professor Hawking is out with a new book, and in The Grand Design, he, along with co-author Leonard Mlodinow, now presses his case against God — or at least against any role for God in the origin of the universe or the beginning of time.

I have never, ever understood the cult following that he has accrued. He seems to be another personality who is famous for being famous.
Anyway, my plumber is more important to me, and I actually do have respect for his opinions and scholarship.

All that is manifest here is simple, arrogant, ignorance of reality, which should be the greatest defamation for any man of science. The obvious counterargument for Hawking is to explain away the regeneration of a human spirit separate from Divine Creation. How is such possible without God? The consequences are eternal for those already condemned.
Soon he will be in for a big surprise too. If he thinks he has suffered throughout his life here, just imagine how he will spend his eternity.
This is nothing more than a rehash of “curved time” idea he presented at the end of A Brief History of Time.
Although I regarded ABHOT as a very good book when I read it, I remember scratching my head about the supposed profundity the final chapter. As best as I remember it, Hawking seemed to be saying that there was really no time zero, hence no creation, thus no need for a Creator.
All well and good Stephen, except it doesn’t explain why the universe exists and we’re all here to wonder about it.
First off, he never said it.
He did indicate that GOD should not be used as an 'answer' when trying to solve science problems. That just makes sense.
Second.... this is about the third or fourth article making the same invalid claim.
It is a true statement that everyone worships either the true God or himself.Their are no other alternatives.

I have always thought Hawkings was just a puppet and some other person was doing the work and talking via his so called intelligence He has been around longer than the computer that is suppose to be talking for him.
Hawking was and is a brilliant physicist. He has spent his life searching for the Grand Unified Theory. Having failed at finding it, he creates his own religion... something that must be taken on faith because proof is impossible. I guess gravity is relentless... it is even pulling Hawking down.

You see, UCANSEE2, Dr. Hawking clearly states his belief concerning the question of, “Does God exist?”
Hawking's dealing with his God is between him and his God. At the very core of the covenant is the truth that God always welcomes back those who he feels have at sometime defied his wishes, in short, we mere humans can't help but question. God knows this. It is for each of us to decide, and Hawking and his awesome brain is for him and his God to decide, sorry. Hawking's affliction for me tells me that he deals with God on a much more questioning level than most; he has been dealt such a blow. I think for such a crippled man to question God is normal, he is after all one of us, mere, mortals, and his human bondage is the proof.
Hawking’s isn’t questioning God. Hawking has made his views quite clear concerning the Grand Designer. He clearly states that there is no God, and if He exists, God is merely the creation of man.

That’s your opinion, and one which Hawking does not agree with. After all, he wrote a book on the subject. He isn’t keeping it “between him and his God.”
Albert Einstein made it clear that he doesn’t believe in God, so to base your “question” argument on this falsehood is completely groundless. You described Einstein as a “Philosopher”. Albert Einstein was not a philosopher by any stretch of the imagination. He was not schooled in the disciplines and principles, nor did he earn a degree in the field of Philosophy. He was a Physicist.

You must be talking about another covenant. The Old and New Testament prophesy’s and reveals who Christ is, and what our personal relationship with Christ is through His death and resurrection. God reconciles with His own, which does not include those who reject him as the Almighty Creator and Savior.
Hawking has presented his position on the subject. He rejects God.
Please, please do not disappear, but rather please explain to me exactly what a philosopher truly is for you seem to know, it is more than a piece of paper we can agree. Do not go away but please engage me further, I should wish to know this question of a true philosopher. I believe that I might know, but through your perceptive well trained mind I, us, we might be able to see if Hawking is or is not a real philospher. Shall we dance pilgrim?
