Conservatives were right to take chances in states like Alaksa and Utah. It would not be a good idea to take a chance in Delaware, where Obama remains popular.

Yes, always remember to wisely pick your fight.

Just like dealing with teenagers.

This race looked quite a bit different in July polling. One poll does not determine the whole race. As was posted yesterday, McCain had a solid lead on Obama at this time in 2008. That seemed to change in the 60 days following.

Our party needs to pick our best candidates. If voting for a 70 year old leftist is the best choice for our party, then we will decide that during the primary. Adding a guy with a Republican name who only will cause massive trouble for us later may not be the best choice. We shall see. I for one learned my lesson in recent years that sometimes the short term benefit of voting for a non-conservative Republican cause us a lot more trouble in the long run as our agenda gets watered down. Charlie Crist, Ahnold, and slew of other demonstrate this belief. Guys like Scott Brown are great picks for the northeast. They are with us 70% of the time and only occasionally go against us. Mike Castle is a leftist. We have to decide if a one vote gain in the Senate is worth a lot of heartburn later.

I agree. Castle would be with us atleast 50% of the time (and probably more if the Republicans are in the majority). Coons would vote with us 0% of the time. People need to think about how important the Senate majority leadership is and how important majority control of the committees are. Healthcare, cap n trade, financial regulation, card check, and all the other socialist schemes of the Rats would never even make it to the Senate floor under Republican leadership!

When I heard the IL-style machinations behind the scenes in Delaware, I find it not only right to defeat Castle, but an absolute moral imperative.

Mullah Obama remains popular only in places where the GOP has not exposed his anti-American agenda in detail and the repercussions of DeathCare on every single American. The elderly, the disabled, can bend over and kiss their rears goodbye. Exposure, exposure, exposure is what destroys Liberal RATs.

Have you guys thought about how your comments are being received on the ground?

Just look at Ting (Senate), also the party-endorsed Mike Castle and Michelle Rollins (House). People here are fighting off the same old same old crap we always get from the GOP machine. After last year’s huge grassroot demonstrations, lots of us wanted to volunteer at local party headquaters. Except for hitting the newbies for money donations and time/phonebank for PARTY ENDORSED candidates, OF COURSE they don’t want any upstart tea party member to upset the cart.

All we hear is “can’t win”, “better off with the RINOs”, etc. etc. It is so discouraging. Fine, why fight for nominations or even go through voting then?
