I think its time to reverse the double standard—

This pastor and this church have a constitutional right, under freedom of speech and religion, to burn the koran, and anybody who says they don’t is an intolerant bigoted christianophobe.

On the other hand, building a mosque at ground zero needs to be called off immediately because it is: disgraceful, divisive, inolerant, idiotic and dangerous and will lead to violent attacks against Muslims.

I believe I asked for an example of Jesus or one of his apostles. Samson did destroy the Philistines temple, but it was his own sin and disobedience that brought him to that point. It was God giving him his strength back to do this.

Maybe if Jones were to challenge an Imam the way Elijah challenged the priests of Baal, I might give him the respect so many are. But if God didn’t tell him to do it, he would be sorely embarrassed as a pillar of fire won’t come down and consume the Korans.

We have the right to do a lot of things in life.

We have the right to yell "Fire" in a crowded theatre.

That does not mean if it is advisable, nor wise, nor ramification-less to do so.

Just to prove a point and assert one's Constitutional Rights? Fine, go ahead.

But I say that the next headless body which turns up, or somebody burned to death such as an American businessman overseas in India, or Indonesia or Dubai or Malaysia dutifully sent by his American company on assignment who also loves his family back in the USA, or a young American soldier off-duty kidnapped and shot in the head at close range, and the al=Jazeera specific message is left by jehadi that it was in retaliation for this foolish Floriduh pastor, all the bills in connection with funeral and condolences, treble damages, etc. should be billed to this "church", in addition to the US military hunting down the bastards who performed the killigs.

You and Patreaus are wrong

Most people start this conversation by condemning the Pastor for burning the Koran because it is inciteful. What they also do is add in one sentence about our free speech and how he has the right to ...do this.

What is left out is everything else people say afterwards, about how this is anti-Christian, this is against common sense, it will cause riots, it is hate filled, the Pastor is a nut, blah blah

What everyone ends up doing is making a SINGLE sentence on his right to dissent and then 8 or 9 sentences about why it is wrong.

THE POINT: All that does is create an air of APOLOGY to Islam and Muslims. It makes us sound weak, we sound sorry, we condemn one of our own in the same breath we support our own. We end up telling the world we dont want to upset people with the actions of one rude person so please believe the rest of us dont want to hurt you.

It is a HUGE apology attitude to ISL:AM in general.

As Richard Cox said, I am glad there is one guy who is telling the truth. And yes, I would not reccommend this, but for God’s sake!

WE ARE ABANDONING OUR OWN CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS TO FREE SPEECH TO PLACATE A RELIGION THAT WANTS TO KILL US AND THEIR ANGER AT THIS IS MORE PROOF THEY ARE A VIOLENT MURDER CULT AND NOT A GENUINE RELIGION OF GOD!!

Problem is we are not in Ephesus nor are we in Saudi Arabia. This is our country. It may be different if we were in Saudi Arabia burning Korans in an effort to evangelize.

That said Gideon was in his own country that was overrun with Midianites to the point of the Jews hiding in caves. They were oppressed of the Midianites for seven years because God was angry with them and their whole country was spoiled (12 trillion in debt sound like a spoiling of our goods?)
Gideon was sent by an angel of God to uproot and destroy his fathers alter and replace it with an alter to the Lord. When he did it the people were looking to kill Gideon but his dad said “if Baal be a god let him avenge himself on Gideon”
That's what I say, if allah be a god let him avenge himself on this pastor. Why do the heathen rage instead?

That's right it says just exactly that in the constitution, you have the right to free speech*

*except when muslims don't like it. And might do something violent because of it.

When do we stop backing down....

FROM LIBERALS?

We’ve continually taken steps back as leftists encroach on our liberties and property,
and we’ve done so out of “civility”.

However, we’ve just noticed that there’s a cliff behind us and there are no more steps back, even in the name of “civility”.

What the Muslims have done, or will do, is beside the point. It is STOOPID for the Pastor to burn the Korans. He’s doing it just for the publicity, and sadly, the news organizations are feeding his ego.

This is just another case of Christians cutting off their own heads to prove to Islam how sensitive we are to their sensibilities.

Islam has no tolerance for any other religion and given enough time and appeasement will destroy all other religions on this planet.

Anyone that does not realize that has not read the Koran.

The Koran instructs it’s followers to be pedophiles, murderers, slave masters, rapists, thieves, cheats, and liars all in the name of Allah.

This book should be burnt because of the hate it creates.

Here's some more drivel for ya: Sun Tzu, General Curtis LeMay and I favor efficient war over Clausewitz’s total war of annihilation of the enemy. Here's a great essay on the subject:

Perhaps you could share your theories of war with us?

You're getting swallowed up in "feel good" tactics. When we attack the Koran we attack moderate muslims too. That increases the morale of the enemy.

We need to divide the enemy by dislocating moderate muslims from jihadists.

Bin Laden would be more than happy to light the match for Jones. It plays right into the jihadists.

I have no sympathy for moderate muslims, but 1.5 billion of them are reality. We won't kill them off, they have to be humbled.

We don't disagree on the nature of the enemy. But winning this fight means not creating any Alamo's and Pearl Harbors for the enemy and increasing their morale.

If we can't/won't go after the enemy leaders in Pakistan, we are left with irregular and asymetric warfare on the psyche of muslim society.

Jones' wacko church of 50 followers vs. Rev. Phelps and his family flock.........who should I support? If I support one I have to support the other don't I?

So many decisions, so little time.......

That air of apology is not apparent among the Muslims only among us. It insults us to hold back against the enemy, I agree. They know we are not weak, just indecisive about finding the enemy.

Burning the Koran is hardly going to embolden us, but it certainly will embolden them. We have to demoralize and divide the enemy, burning the koran does the opposite.

If we can't fight harder, by going into Pakistan and Iran and Yemen and Syria, we have to fight smarter against the enemy we can get at.

It doesn’t matter if we give them a rallying point or not, their leaders will make one up anyway.

It would be better that they knew we are willing to destroy them and their Koran then be slaves to their wishes for dominion over us.

Sew the wind, reap the whirlwind.

And (to the church and their adherents), hey, why not use your frikkin head while there are thousands upon thousands of Americans overseas who would tell that church in a New York Minute to SH*VE IT.

"Your actions in now way solve ANYTHING related to Islamofascism and show the heighth (or should I say depth) of strategic ignorance."

I agree that it is stupid to burn the Koran as it will only encourage the Jihadists.

However, we all know that there are double standards:

Burning the Quran is not new in Islam. Their 3rd Caliph and the son-in-law of Muhammad, Othman, had burned the 6 out of 7 versions of the Quran, while compiling the version that exist today. After that Muhammad’s child-wife Aisha and his another son-in-law Ali jointly conspired and murdered him for political reasons, a legacy which they inherited from Muhammad. And they justified his murder for burning the Quran.
http://www.faithfreedom.org/articles/op-ed/on-the-burning-of-the-quran/

Signs in Saudi airports warn Muslim travelers that the airport's mutawwa’in, or religious police, confiscate Korans, other Islamic literature, and Muslim objects of non-Saudi origin. While discriminating specifically against Shiites and Ahmadis, this policy manifests a wider insistence on Wahhabi supremacism.

Will these confiscated books be stored or trashed or even burned?
