Doesn’t it seem to you that we’re being extorted by Islam in all of this? “If you don’t do and/or say what we tell you, people will die.” (Example: burning Korans, building mosques in certain places) It sure seems that way to me. I wonder if a better reaction might be to remind them that in this country, we have certain rights, and burning holy books (including Korans) is one of them. It might also be “educational” to point out the beheadings, stonings, honor killings, and suicide bombings if questions arise as to which side is civilized.

Good points. There is definitely an aspect of kowtowing to muslims here. In the hope?? that long term there is the benefit of humbling them.
