That’s very true, and it’s a strong argument against the risky sexual behaviors promoted in the gay community, but it’s not a sufficient argument against homosexual sex itself. It doesn’t answer the question, “why is it immoral to have sex with a member of one’s own gender?” When heterosexuals fly from partner to partner, engaging in sodomy without protection, they get diseases, too.

That’s what bothers me about people who use disease as their chief argument against homosexuality. Their reasoning seems to suggest homosexuality would be acceptable if not for the diseases. Suppose, for the sake of argument, that the gay community finally got its act together and valued monogamy, commitment and safety, and the disease rate dropped as a result: would moral arguments about homosexuality become irrelevant? Or is there something inherent to homosexuality that makes it wrong, regardless of disease rate?

It is immoral because it is purely hedonistic. A same sex act is purely for self pleasure. When engaged in by a married couple, sex is for children and to bring the couple closer together. Homosexuality is also a mental disease.

It is a mental illness. Mental illness is not healthy. Homosexuals lifespans are shortened by their sex practices.

The disease rate will not drop. Why can't you grasp that this is a mental illness. Do you know what a bug catcher is? A homosexual that tries to get Aids or as many diseases as possible. This is sick behavior born out of mental illness.

Why do you think the Catholic Church's position is that all sex must be unitive and potentially procreative in nature to be lawful? Because it is a rational position that rings all those bells--and just happens to be completely in synch with nature as well.

Btw, it isn’t just diseases. There is also physical damage done to internal organs by using the wrong part of the body as a receptacle for something that doesn’t belong there. That particular orifice is a shoot not an “in” door. Tearing and puncturing internal organs is common. Also anal sex is a cause of cancer. That is also abnormally high among homosexuals.

There are many, many reasons why homosexual practices are immoral, unhealthy, unnatural and destructive.

By the way, both traditional Chinese medicine, Taoism, and Ayurvedic tradition all teach that same sex acts cause mental illness - specifically increased aggression, anger and violence.

So homosexuality is not only a mental illness, but the very behavior increases the mental illness.
