In addition to voicing his opposition to urban farming in Detroit ("cute but foolish"), civil rights leader Jesse Jackson's remarks to the Detroit City Council on Tuesday featured some provocative comments about the new battery plant in Holland.

Specifically: It should be in Detroit.

The Detroit News quoted him as telling the Council: "The governor, a Democrat, brags about Michigan getting a battery plant, built north of Grand Rapids, as opposed to Detroit, the engine that drives the state. We need industrialization, not farming. Detroit needs the battery plant. Let farmers farm ... We are not offering a farming plan for Baghdad."

Used to be that way.

Holland is becoming more brown. English is hardly the first language anymore.

I’ve got no problem with putting the battery plant in Detroit. In fact, it would be an improvement. Along with a lead smelter, a mercury vapor plant, some oil refineries and a toxic waste recycler. We need all these things, and places like Detroit, Camden, East St. Louis and Gary are perfect locations.

My Sligh grandfather clock cabinet made and assembled in Holland, MI (works made in Germany).

Oh, and Jesse Jackson is a race-baiting poverty pimp.

A quantum leap from redistribution of wealth to redistribution of factories.

Does the Factory Allocation Czar know about this?

Apparently he hasn’t figured out a hustle related to “urban farming” yet. Didn’t Jesse’s car get stolen in Detroit last week?
