Because if they are a MUslim I want nothign do with them. If they believe in the crap muslims believe in I want nothing to do with them as they are one messed up idiot.

Then go by name. If there is a Mohammed in there somewhere then the odds are they're Muslim. If they cut off your infidel head during the interview than that's another giveaway.

The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), protects individuals who are 40 or older from being discriminated against in the workplace in favor of younger employees.

Do you know how embarrassing this protected status is for me? I'm only 43, for Heaven's sake!

When you apply for a Federal job “Are you a Citizen” is the first question asked. At least the Federal jobs are restricted to US Citizens.

"How does age, marital status, race, or religion impact someone's qualifications for the job?"

Age, marital status and religion can have an impact on the costs incurred by the potential employer.

As a manager with HR experience ... You can ask people for their date of birth - INSTEAD of their age.

Aren't our laws wonderful!

And HR departments and people too!

I wonder: Do the NY Yankees have an HR Department? WTF is wrong with American businesses today? A lot of the places I've done work for are more worried about offending their second baseman than being concerned about why he/she has never successfully fielded a ground ball.

All of this applies to the Federal Govt except the “Are you a US Citizen.” Federal jobs (for the most part) are restricted to U.S. Citizens.

There are ways of finding out each of those questions.

For instance, many employers are very cautious of hiring young women. For the simple fact that when/if they have kids, they will not work as many hours as a man.

He was 66 when he came to work for us but no, I didn’t ask him how old he was we just inherited him. We tried to let him go a few years ago and he begged to stay because he gets very little SS and needs it to support his family. He’s 76 and works harder than most but some days he just looks so exhausted that we send him home but we still pay him. He can’t read or write, we have to file his taxes for him. He’s our charity case, my husband says he fully expects him to die here.
