I know you guys will think I’m nuts, but this happened to me on a flight from LA once. No, I didn’t try to open the door, but I had a panic attack and I had an almost irresistible compulsion to open the doors. I literally had to hold onto my armrests and grip them with extreme force to keep from standing up. I’ve never experienced anything like it before or since. I hope I never do again.

And no matter how logical you try to be, nothing overcomes the irrational panic.
