If Haggar had gotten a good lawyer, ......

Yeah, I'll bet a good ambulance chaser could have put the old squeeze play on the invisible High God of Israel, Infinite Logos, Author of the Universe, and Ontos On in family court and got Hagar a sweet deal.

Christians still care about who their public face is.

Well before the Koran burning issue arose, Jones was a Phelps loving kook.

I find it troublesome that little more has been made widely known about Jones. It’s like all these Christians who are rah-rahing his Koran burning publicity stunt think he would fit perfectly in their pews. I don’t think so.

Still comparing the reformation of 600 years ago .....

..... to what the caliphs were doing at the same time in northern India. Oooooo! that looks bad. Yup, Moslems still bloodier and nastier.

Back to the polemical drawing board.

I still disagree with burning of the Koran. The Bible says love those who hate you, pray for those who dispitefully use you. I would get rid of any book in my library that didn't honor God, but I would not intentionally make an offense that might bring dishonor on Christ.

That having been said this post is a great point. We hear all of the time that Islam is a peaceful religion and that only the radical fringe are troublemakers. All of Islam is not responsible. Well, does Mohammad count as one of those radical few?

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. We will make no offense to our fellow man except for the offense of the Cross. We serve Christ and him crucified, and the day will come when every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Then to those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord he will say, "Depart from me ye workers of iniquity into everlasting fire." Jesus will burn the Koran, I don't need to.

Mohammad, Buddha, Gandhi, you and I will all be in that group that kneels before the King. The question is simply will you be on the RIGHT or the LEFT. Whether it offends them or not that is just true. I invite you to come to the right and kneel to the King.

Almost no Christian would stand by Luther’s comments, even if they were meant literally. Contrast that with Muslim behavior and belief.

So what’s your point? Why did you bring Luther’s error into this?

If Haggar had gotten a good lawyer, better child support, and a binding financial palimony or surrogate package- with benefits - and a condo in Dubai where Sarah didn’t have to see her every day - history might have turned out different.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

That's funny!

Speaking only for myself, it matters not who or what he says he is, what he was, his mental health, his financial situation, where he lives, or who is family is.

And his religion certainly has ZERO to do with my opinion of our Gov officials, Generals, Federal law enforcement, world gov leaders, Interpol, and Islamic terrorists threatening a private citizen with death.

These gov officials who have been telling us since 9/11 that Islam is a religion of peace, and its adherents are capable of living in a civilized and free society, and that we should send our sons and daughters to die for them. That if given a chance, their moderates will defeat their radicals.

And this old man in Fla, has unwittingly proved them all liars. As has the government-called moderate Imam who demands a mosque at GZ, and threatens violence if he is denied. And our government officials have given long speeches in support of this Imam.

For if a private citizen can provoke such FEAR of Islam by government officials and Generals, forcing them to give a Koran a status that American icons (bibles,Flags) themselves do NOT enjoy, then we are allowing them to set up a double standard, another step closer to special protections for Islam.

If burning Korans is going to get our guys killed, then we should bring them all home. Afghanistan and Iraq aren’t worth our efforts anymore. Efforts to win hearts and minds have obviously failed.

So no, men like Jones will come and go, when another one pops up....surely he/she will be majorly flawed also.

Do not worry about the worthiness of a stranger in the pew next to you...they have no power over you, but your government officials, and the Islamists do.

We have been successful in our campaign thus far and encourage and invite all who have an opportunity to spread this awesome pet naming campaign.

then it sounds like this needs to be encouragement passed along to friends and family... after all, we can’t speak ill of the ROP or do anything to their books (as if they were written on gold) so this is a perfect opportunity to show proper “respect” to their prophet.
Also, a muslim will never get mad for being sacrilegious about allah but will start chopping heads at the negative mention of muhammad.

When I’m by myself, I don’t mind doing things. It’s when I have someone I love in the vacinity, that I’m more circumspect.

I believe in calling like I see it concerning issues like this. And I’m referring to the ‘in public’ aspect of it.

Take care...

This is no stranger in a pew any more. This is someone who has forced himself into the limelight as a “Christian.” Actual Christians should care about whether he is a fair representation, and if he isn’t, should not be bashful about saying so.

I fear, in this brouhaha, a loss of Christian focus on its central tenet of salvation of eternal souls, of “whosoever will.” Do Christians care about salvation of eternal souls enough to refrain from burning bridges (never mind books)?

Christians are promised suffering; they don’t have any imperative to seek it out or to gratuitously provoke it (suffering will find them just fine as they obey the Lord), but vacations from suffering are not the norm for Christians on this mortal coil. Some of the worst earthly times for churches have been some of the best times for saving souls. I just want to see some perspective here.

Your admonitions are well taken by me HiTech, and your perspective is appreciated.

My entire take has been a political one, Jones could have been anyone as far as I was concerned. (I never took seriously his claims of faith, and still do not)

But I understand your concerns completely.
