Ad hominem attacks upon the "church hierarchy and the Vatican" isn't very Catholic now, is it? Is there no Bishop, or Pope or Cardinal that you respect? Yes, there have always been legitimate issues regarding some in Church leadership -- from the time Jesus died on the cross for our sins -- but to publicly proclaim "contempt" for everyone in the "hierarchy" shows ignorance and a lack of charity and respect, at the least. Friend, I accept The Holy Trinity, God The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I don’t need to explain myself or my Catholicism to anyone, least of all you, there’s no one in this world who can judge me on my love of The Lord, none but the one on high. No Pope I respect? I respect John Paul the 2nd. Bishops? Only one, The late Fulton J. Sheen. And as for mentors I respect some of the Christian Brothers of Ireland who guided me as a student at Essex Catholic High School in Newark New Jersey forty years ago. Ad Hominems?
