California Sperm Donor Stalks Lesbian Mother
ABC News ^ | Sept. 13, 2010 | SUSAN DONALDSON JAMES

Karen B., a Los Angeles writer in her 40s, found a sperm donor on Craigslist after she and her lesbian partner decided to have a baby.

"I tried every male friend, gay, straight, married and single, but it was really difficult to find somebody," said Karen. "I was running out of options and my biological clock was ticking."

After connecting on the Internet, she and the donor, Daniel C., signed a layman's agreement that the child would live with Karen and she would make all parenting decisions. He would have some visitation rights.

"I always wanted the baby to know the father," said Karen, who had originally intended to use a family friend's sperm until she discovered he was HIV positive.

But as the pregnancy progressed, Daniel interjected himself into the couple's life, even telling the doctor he was Karen's husband, even though he was gay.

“...even telling the doctor he was Karen’s husband, even though he was gay.”
Author somehow assumes that someone who is gay can’t/wouldn’t lie?

Well, I was raised by six* crazy people, and I’m okay. Right? Right, Slings? Right? Right? Slings?

Two heterosexual parents, two brothers, and two sisters, all of whom were adults by the time I was almost seven.

Very rare for a thread to have a Homosexual Agenda and Moral Absolutes Ping and a Not a Pinglist Ping, but it happens!

Slings and Arrows? No, more like a little sympathy - you likely never had a chance to get into trouble with all that supervision! :-)

"What is the power and control stuff?" said Elrod. "Why not do what's best for the kids, rather than what's best for the parents?"

Says Elrod, the Family Lawyer Person.

But draws the wrong conclusion: Lawyer Lady says the law should allow 3 or more legal parents, in order to "broaden the child's horizons."

Let's see: Genetic mother and father = 2. Plus birth mother, 3. Throw in a wet-nurse or... what do they call them now? Lactational surrogate? That brings us up to 4. Or three shifts: new total 6.

Plus a legal mother and father, who could be different from the genetic and birth parents and the Milk-Mamas, so total now = 8.

Then "emotional" or "social" parents --- could include the nanny or the daycare workers, or fond aunties or a parent's ex-domestic-partner --- forget it, I've got to stop counting, there's no theoretical limit on that number.

The majority of them gender-identity-confused, hormonally addled, genitally retrofitted or paid by mL or by the hour.

O Lucky kid, his life's a regular kaleidoscope of fragmented parents, garbled roles, centrifugic identities and expanded horizons...

How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world,
That has such people in't!.

they did it with parental rights and visitation.

He has standing, the right to see the father is the child’s not the mother.

As said before, love has nothing to do with marriage, it is all about children. Every child has a mother and a father.

In this case it is two weirdos but is still mommy and daddy. (and a woman’s sex fetish “companion”)

The old way to do this was SO much easier.

Go to San Diego, find a nice guy, get fresh with him, tell him your name is Suzi and that you are from Nashville and that you are on the pill. Never speak to him again. How difficult is this?

It is considered a regular marriage. (see the new admiral in the navy who is “married” to an enlisted man)

There is no recreational sex test for marriage.
There is no love test.

So was the child produced from tap or turkey baster?

Right you are, MrB ...

Romans 1 ~

20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him ...
24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.
25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.
27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.
29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips,
30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents;
31 they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

When I read these things it’s all about wants of the *parents* not about the needs of the children. These are pathetic people. They should just get a puppy. Well, no, even puppies deserve better.

Here’s a easy solution, a man not married to the mother has no paternal rights.
