Health-care reform: Why I'm suing to get back my freedom

Iowa City, Iowa -- Since the new federal health care law was enacted in March, some 21 states have joined or filed legal challenges. Everyday Americans have, too.

I’m one of them.

I filed a federal lawsuit at the end of July. Depending on how the briefing is scheduled, oral argument could take place in the first quarter of 2011.

I’m a 29-year-old veteran and small business owner, with no political involvement or ambitions. So, why would I take this dramatic step?

The answer starts with explaining what exactly I’m challenging: the constitutionality of the health care law’s “individual mandate.”

“As a business person, I intend to cover my own medical expenses, and I want the freedom and flexibility to do my own budgeting, including setting aside money for medical needs. I don’t want the federal government dictating my personal financial decisions. It can’t even run its own budget!”

I know many people like this. They detest the fact they will be made a CRIMINAL by the Obamanistas if they don't purchase the health insurance mandated by law.

Good for Sissel. But there has to be more to oppose and I hope I am just unaware of other lawsuits.

Aren't there 200+ new totalitarian agencies set up under National Socialist Healthcare in over 2,300 pages?

Is it our fate to be ultimately ruled by untouchable judges and bureaucrats?

Might take some head scratching to figure out the proper party to sue. Maybe the state.

Is there not a class action lawsuit already? How much is this costing Matt for this sort of representation? If something is not done by 2014, I will be one of the first to be fined/jailed/&c. for refusing to buy a product that I do not desire to own.
