Audit Notes: D’Souza and Forbes Edition (We've hit a nerve!! FReep mention)

But because it was in Forbes, an “MSM” publication, this piece of garbage will be seized on and pointed to as fact for years to come by cynical folks who know better, like Newt Gingrich, and by those who don’t, like Free Republic commenters or your relatives (you know the ones) who pass on those slap-me-stupid email forwards.

You could pick 5 random freepers to debate the entire Columbia Journalism school on politics past or present, and it wouldn’t even be a contest.

And 4 of us could go out for a beer in the middle of it.

Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Put me on the "out for a beer" list also, please.

Sorry, but if this is Columbia J school work, it’s pathetically infantile. Reads more like high school. So much for the “Ivy League.”

Oddly enough, all the points D’Souza brings out in his article only make the hard-core left love Obama more. It seems that the author’s only real problem with the original article is that it was said outside of the CJR lounge area.

D’Souza has apparently found Obama’s rabbit. It is anti-(neo)colonialism. Who knew?

D’Souza's theory is plausible for Obama but it does account for the support of Obama policies among others. There is no way he could shut down oil drilling without broad support from the bipartisan elite.

Did you read the linked Economist piece? Amazing slashing attack on author Dinesh. And to think; the Economist is what is considered a “conservative” mag in Europe...Eurotrash

I did not read the D’Sousa article, but, I am going to take exception to it. I don’t think you can attribute a logical explanation to someone who is just incompetent, lazy, arrogant, narcissistic and evil. If any logical sense can be applied, it is no more than the evil Hitler brought to the Nazis or Stalin to the Soviets.

I just read the article. I like this guy D’Souza. I will have to familiarize myself with his body of work. He’s so logical and straightforward. Great analysis of the Kenyan Pretender and HOW HE THINKS.

Excerpt:

“Obama’s foreign policy is no less strange. He supports a $100 million mosque scheduled to be built near the site where terrorists in the name of Islam brought down the World Trade Center. Obama’s rationale, that “our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable,” seems utterly irrelevant to the issue of why the proposed Cordoba House should be constructed at Ground Zero.”

D’Souza's theory is plausible for Obama but it does account for the support of Obama policies among others. There is no way he could shut down oil drilling without broad support from the bipartisan elite.

What all elites have in common is hatred for the United States of America as it was founded, and their desire to dismantle or destroy it.

Shutting down offshore drilling is an easy one. If you need a few new deepwater drilling rigs, the Norwegians or Koreans will be happy to oblige you for about $500,000,000 each -- in four or five years. But if you can make it illegal for your biggest rival to drill in his own waters, you can get his idled rigs for pennies on the dollar -- and right now. Obama's ban sent our idled platforms down to Brazil, to the waiting arms of Petrobras -- the largest single holding of Mr. George Soros. It's a win-win-win: America is damaged, the Third World gets our market share, and George Soros makes a huge, politically-orchestrated windfall.

Of course, the premise of the article is that Obama thinks at all...never mind HOW he thinks.

I think Obama thinks with a cigarette in one hand, a glass of Grey Goose in the other, and Reggie Love under the desk in the Oval Office.

Soros’ campaign contributions to Obama were a profitable investment. Another Obama position obviously backed by the hostile elite, is the open borders policy (while we supposedly fight a war on terror). On the border issue, Obama is very much the same as was Bush.

Forbes is taking a brave stand by putting D’Souza’s article as their COVER story in the Sept 27th issue. Once the hard copy hits the stands, I am buying a copy in hopes of seeing D’Souza one day so he can autograph it for me.
That's all very well - but don't you supose he'd be more amenable to autographing a copy of his book, after you bought that . . .

Well, I read your comment - and I take exception to it.

There were probably people who said the same thing about comments by people who had actually read Mein Kampf
D'Souza reads Obama's book - and researches what that means in the context from which the attitudes Obama expresses in the book originate. In the context, that is, of Third-World reaction against European, especially British, colonialism. D'Souza himself is an immigrant from a country (India) which the British colonized, and that gives him some innate insight into that perspective.

Why would you assume that there are no patterns to be discerned by such a study?

My exception is that, such analysis, implies a noble effort from DumBO to correct past indiscretions. Whereas, I just assume he has no redeeming value. I have yet to see refutation of my position. Like Hitler and Stalin, he will leave little of value and much to be abhorred.

Understood.
But any attempt at objectivity would have to start with an understanding of where Obama's POV originated.
D'nish D'Souza is a very insightful, and very conservative, writer. Anyone who takes for granted that they cannot learn anything from a book from D'Souza is just not thinking with brain cells.
