Only if he’s also open to banning flag burning!

Bet he won't ban any kind of desecration of Christian symbols!

His ACLU masters wouldn't let him.

If threats of violence trump free speech, there is none.

You’d think a Supreme Court justice could figure that out.

Burning the flag is protected free speech but burning the Koran isn’t? Bizarro world, up is down, black is white.

Idiotic! This is a sophisticated rendering of "the squeaky wheel gets the grease." You can't do/say that because someone will get violent and hurt people. The First Amendment is about to get gutted.

...this is good stuff...ban Koran burning, but letting the flag burn will only p*ss people off more...and get them to the polls.

Breyer is creepy.

I think Koran burning publicity stunts are colossally stupid, but I couldn’t dream of any constitutional reason to ban them.

All of which is a nonsense discussion not grounded in any reality ~ and that is because Breyer, in his real persona, is a fascist pig.

It's not the shouting of fire in a crowded theater that is the risky act ~ it's the shouting of fire WHEN THERE IS NO FIRE in a crowded theater. Otherwise, with a fire present, it's probably more murderous to NOT shout FIRE.

With 1.4 billion people already held captive by several ill-considered permutations of Islam the theater is burning to the ground.

If we’re going to limit the 1st Amendment, why don’t we just ban Islam?

Making our democracy work

It works just fine as a Constitutional Republic, thank you very much.

The fact that you as a Supreme Court Justice are trying to change that make me think you should step down from your position.

“Holmes said it doesn’t mean you can shout 'fire' in a crowded theater,” Breyer told me. “Well, what is it? Why? Because people will be trampled to death. And what is the crowded theater today? What is the being trampled to death?”

So are they finally admitting all the death and destruction is due to the fact muslims lack the ability to behave in a civilized manner?

If this doesn't fit the definition of 'terrorism', what does?

This is what’s so frustrating about our current laws - there’s no consistency. The fed. government has actually FUNDED works of “art” meant to desecrate Christian symbols and that invite people to trample on our flag. These were SUPPORTED by the National Endowment for the Arts. All kinds of offensive speech has been deemed constitutionally protected - until now. Why? Because it’s like yelling FIRE in a crowded theater? This is very very bad legal reasoning, IMO. We’re no longer a nation of laws that make sense. We’re no longer a nation of laws.

Liberal coward.

Sorry for the redundancy. Word “coward” automatically implied.
