I didn’t realize how much he resembles Larry Craig.

The GOP really needs to learn a huge lesson here on so many accounts. The State Party should always remain neutral during primary elections. That definitely has not been the case here.

He would probably just endorse the Dem and get some posh job in the Obama Administration.

Reno Air Races start tomorrow. I’ll be in Nevada until Monday...if I see Hairy Screed I’ll kick him in the arse.

UGH and *sigh* - My husband speculated and asked me earlier today if I thought Castle’s old supporters would bus “old people” from rest homes to the polls? Apparently, he was thinking along the right lines.

I also heard Carl Cameron’s report, and IIRC he didn’t mention the voter turn-out in Sussex County where I think you told me Christine will be strong.

OK everyone. Here is my famous treatises on Election Results, Sampling and Trends.

First rule: Trends hold and never break. If they DO break, it is usually cheating or some very unusual occurrence.

Second rule: If the voting seems to be coming in across the region and not an isolated pocket, you can call it by 10% in most times and by 25% in ALWAYS.

Third rule: Any difference greater than 2% cannot be cheated and any difference greater than 5% will never be overcome.

Miracles do not happen in politics. If we are leading, we have won. If we are not leading we have lost. We will know very very early unless it us closer than 2%.

Husband and I went to vote today and something odd happened.

First, there wasn’t a whole lot of people around. But we go to a little church and there’s never a lot of people. This was around 10 am in the morning.

So we give our name, we sign the sheet, and the lady says take a “D” or an “R”. There were little blocks piled up and if you were a Republican you took an “R” and Democrats took a “D”. When you got to the voting booth you handed the operator your card and he turned on the side on which you were only allowed to vote. On the right was Dem., for example, on the left, Repub. The Repub side lit up once the guy turned my correct side on. Thus I could not vote for BOTH Dem and Repub.

so far so good.

But as we were taking our little blocks, husband asks can he have a “D” instead of an “R”. Now I don’t know why he asked that...joking I guess. His voter card says “R” so he can only vote “R”.

Obviously.

But in response to his little joke, the lady says, loudly, “Yes, you can have a “D”. But you got to give back the “R”.”

By this time we were on our way to the voting booth and we were doing the ha-ha.

After getting home, husband asks why we would be able to get a “D” if we were registered Republican. I tell him not to be silly, the lady was only kidding.

Let me say that as of now I STILL think the lady was kidding.

Husband scratches head and says...”I dunno. What would stop registered Democrats from voting Republican if this is allowed?’

In other words, husband interpreted what I still think was a joke to mean that you could only vote in one party’s primary but it didn’t HAVE to be the party in which you were registered.

Now the Dems DID have a primary today but it was a big nothing thing. It’s the REPUBLICAN primary that’s generating all the interest.

Again, I think the lady was kidding but this did happen.

As I understand it, Delaware has a closed primary. You had to be registered by 8/14 to vote and as I understand, you can only vote in the primary of the party in which you are registered.

But here’s this lady telling us we can get any letter we want.

I’m thinking it would be easy to get a lot of Dems to come, choose the letter “R”, and vote for Castle.

Again, I think the lady was joking but it was kinda dumb, ya think?

It’s been botheering me all day.

“obnoxious sense of entitlement.”

So true!

Spent some time passing Castle’s actual votes around on different forums.

Some told me to scram...others said they did not even know about those votes, and it made them think, but lots of arguing.

Funny how RINO supporters don’t like to see those votes in black and white.

Anyway, did what I could to dump this rino.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2010/09/14/what_to_watch_for_in_the_delaware_gop_senate_primary.html

“O’Donnell’s strength lies in Kent and Sussex Counties, the two southernmost. She should be able to establish strong margins in both. She probably needs [to win] 70:30 in Sussex, 55:45 in Kent and lose by 45:55 in New Castle (the northernmost county). Turnout is likely to be variable, [with the] highest turnout in the areas where she’s strongest, and that will boost her.

RCP: What kind of turnout are you expecting, and how might high or low turnout affect the results?

Dr. Pika: Expectations are for 15-25 percent turnout of Republicans. Higher turnout should help Castle since O’Donnell’s voters seem to be more strongly motivated.”
