The outage was due to "technical problems," said Chase spokesman Tom Kelly, who added that the problem was "not related to hackers or fraud."

Kelly said the company was "working to fix the problem as soon as possible."

"Rather then give a prediction about when it will be fixed, we're just going to tell people when it goes back up," Kelly said about 6:00pm ET. "But we are talking hours not days."

Just a coincidence. WellsFargo is fine, no issues. As is CitiCorp. Just a BOA and Chase issue and it seems BOA is fine right now.

I just called Chase by phone and was able to make a transfer from my savings to checking over the phone. Now I don’t know if it actually went through or not even though they gave me a confirmation number. I assume it did.

Broadview networks has had a regional outage from Boston to DC all day today. It took down my company’s access to the internet, along with all of their customers. My guess is that this is related to that #fail.

I set up an account for my daughter with a local bank. Within two months of setting up the account, they were shut down. Turns out they had a guy writing loans who also sat on the loan approval committee. He was paid on a commission style basis and was raking in big bucks. Ran the bank into the ground.

Yeah, those local banks are so much better. Crooks are crooks, no matter where you live.

Chase has been down since yesterday.

I can however get into my Chase merchant account, but can't verify if that's working or not, as I don't have any credit card charges to process today.

"It's BofA's debit cards at retail outlets"

I used my BofA debit card at two different places today without any problems.

I went into a branch today. They said they’d reverse all charges incurred as a result of the website being down.

I guess that problem must be local to my area then.

Noticed on their home page today that they no longer have FDIC coverage.

I could be the offshore support. American Corporations that have offshored their software development are building their systems and reputations on shifting sands.

How do you interpret.....

"Chase is no longer participating in the FDIC Transaction Account Guarantee Program."

I just went online to pay my bills using Billpay and couldn’t do it. So that part is down anyway.

I used an ATM to make a deposit earlier. They took that just fine :)
