A Warner Robins couple faces murder and cruelty to children charges after medical crews found their 2-year-old son starved to death inside their home.
23-year-old Sade Shamon King and 25-year-old William Thomas Davis III are in the Houston County Jail without bond.
Investigators and neighbors say there are many unanswered questions about why D'Shawn Davis was isolated and neglected for nearly a year inside his Tiffany Place home.
JoAnn Smith, a neighbor, says she was shocked when the couple who lived next door were arrested Tuesday and accused of starving their son.
"Believe it or not. There's food in the back for the animals," she says, pointing to two healthy-looking pitbulls in the couple's backyard.

This is not a rare thing. Often one child is singled out for abuse. That was the case with a poor child who was murdered in NYC a couple of years ago. The murderous father was basically unrepentant, if you can believe that.

I don’t know if there are any theories as to why this singling out occurs.
Drugs don’t appear to be a factor here.

And as for should the neighbor or grandmother have known, the father is saying he worked to much to be aware of his own child. That’s really rich!
Perhaps one child has a personality the parent does not gel with (I’m not justifying it, but there has to be some trigger or reason). Still. It’s evil. How do you starve or abuse your child to death? Even animals take care of their young.
Funny how adults--not just relatives--develop selective blindness and deafness when a child is being abused.

The news reporting in Middle Georgia is pathetic. I didn't even notice in the original story that this tragedy was uncovered on Saturday and only reported because the DA called a press conference on Tuesday. The story was totally missed by the media.
And to top it off they put this important piece of information (the other dead child) in an update to the original story?!

No, not Joel Steinberg, I think both those children were being abused, I think they found the younger child tied to a high chair. And, infamously, he was beating the cr*p out of the woman too (Hedda Nussbaum).
This was a more recent case, involving a little Hispanic girl.
Creepy side-note on Steinberg, they got that second child via my own obstetrician and allegedly that doctor was the person Steinberg called with his “one phone call” after his arrest.
Luckily I never saw Dr. What’s his name again.
