Bank of America will charge clients new monthly fees if their accounts do not meet a minimum balance, the bank's CEO Brian Moynihan said on Tuesday. ... These and other measures will allow the bank to compensate for revenue lost due to new regulations put in place following the 2008 financial crisis that led the US government to salvage many bank with massive bailouts, he said.
"Over the next 12 months, we will reset the entire product line." Bank of America has recently introduced a new account, called e-account, offering reduced fees for customers using automated services, while reducing the number of branches and staff in a bid to cut down costs, he added.

Of course now B of A will receive a visit from the FBI for stating the higher fees are due to the Democrats "reform".
Another new Hope and Change “fee” from the Obamanoids.
My bank did same thing... $15 per month now on (what was) Free Checking if you go below $200 (which I do all the time).
The Dems just cost me $180 per year.
I’m, I’m... SHOCKED
BoA will soon get a visit from members of the Obummer Regime for daring to say something negative about Leftista legislation..
New fees for us too. All the law did is make them issue more snail mail detailing how & how much more we’ll be nicked with.
Once again, the helping hand of Congress is forcing common Americans to financial ruin.
Thanks Liberal Democrats. :)
The bank are out of control, there is NO legal way to stop the banks saying that there will be a fee for any checking and/or saving account with a balance below $100,000.00.
market forces should work but cannot since controlled by gov.
Known as Bank of Illegals in Kalifornia. Felt so good when I fired them this year.
My personal experience has shown me that BA was the absolute worst of any bank I had ever dealt with.
BA wanted to routinely and unapologetically kite my checks.
They broke new ground on usery, utimately charging a young and stupid relative over $800 for a single $11 overdraft. BA has less respectability than the worst Harlem loan shark or Miami money laundering syndicate.
They really are not a bank at all.
I’ll probably get flamed by dozens of folks who may have had bad experiences, but in my part of Colorado, I really can’t say enough good things about Chase. I stop in at multiple branches around the metro area, and they are uniformly friendly and helpful. I’ve moved my banking around a bit over the years due to bad bankers, but I won’t be moving again. And no, I don’t work for Chase.
