NRSC Will Not Support O'Donnell [Update: NRSC now says it will support O'Donnell]

Full statement by John Cornyn, head of the NRSC:

“Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee – and I personally as the committee's chairman – strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine O'Donnell in Delaware.

“I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support. This support includes a check for $42,000 – the maximum allowable donation that we have provided to all of our nominees – which the NRSC will send to her campaign today.

“We remain committed to holding Democrat nominee New Castle County Executive Chris Coons accountable this November, as we inform voters about his record of driving his county to the brink of bankruptcy and supporting his party's reckless spending policies in Washington.

“In the weeks ahead, we will decide where to best allocate additional financial resources among the large number of competitive races at stake this November. While it's not in Republicans' interest to advertise our spending strategy to our opponents, it's worth noting that just yesterday, the NRSC's first independent expenditure ad aired in support of Dr. Rand Paul's campaign in Kentucky, where we firmly believe that he will win in November.

“It remains to be seen whether national Democrats will provide a similar level of support for many of their nominees, including in key battleground states like Indiana, Ohio, Florida, Arkansas, Illinois, and New Hampshire, among others. The Democrats' indecision reflects the fact that Republicans are on offense in at least 12 Democrat-held states and we are leading in the polls in seven of those 12 states.

“Finally, on the matter of the New Hampshire Senate race, while the results remain outstanding, we continue to monitor the Republican primary race, and we stand ready to fully support whichever candidate is chosen as the nominee.”

John Cornyn

He’s been tetering on the line ever since supporting Crist.

He crossed it tonite. I predict the good folks of Texas will show him the door when he’s up for re-election.

How does this make them any different than being in league with the DNCPUSA;

RINOs = Democratic National Communist Party USA

Unless the goal was to get us to this point, including Obamunism.

I shredded a NRSC “survey”/fund-raising letter just today as a matter of fact!! They don’t get a dime until they stop supporting RINOs.

Two thoughts:

1. The NRSC (and other committees) naturally biases towards the ol’ boys club. Always has. This does piss me off for that reason...

...HOWEVER...

2. O’Donnell’s chances of winning are almost nil, that’s a fact whether we like it or not. Putting money in that race would be a waste, why not put it towards Fiorina, or Johnson (WI), or Rossi?

“On the plus side, the NRSC won’t waste $3 million on Mike Castle’s campaign in November.”

Good point.

It is almost like many have been saying, the GOP and the DNC are the same party. This is really starting to bother me. She won and they will not support her? Why would the GOP be so defiant about support for her? Do they know something we don’t?

I don’t know each state’s rules but could we all change our registration from Republican to Independent?

Would they notice?

The GOP lost me when they permitted an open primary in Arizona to protect mccain by letting leftists crossover and vote for him.

As long as it stays open, no point in being a republican as I can still impact the party by requesting a republican ballot. I'll donate to conservatives exclusive and the GOP can take a long summer walk in the desert for all I care.

Let the tea party express support her. They would be able to raise enough money I presume. It is just one race where they have to spend the money and that is in Delaware. How much is needed for this race? 2, 3 millions dollars?

These guys aren’t wasting any time telling us how it is, huh?

These stoopid Plucks have been calling for a week looking for donations.

Told them what I thought of Steele, the RNC and Delaware GOP.

They are dead to me forever.

I think I am a member of the GOTP. GRAND OLE' TEA PARTY.

I have never been so disgusted in all my voting years. This is becoming a GREAT AWAKENING for us Conservative Republicans, they can't even try to hide any longer. They are purging themselves out of existence.

Benedict Arnolds all of them.

No, the Republican party just made ITSELF the third party. The Tea Party is now winning AGAINST them.

Excellent clarification!
