NRSC Will Not Support O'Donnell [Update: NRSC now says it will support O'Donnell]

Full statement by John Cornyn, head of the NRSC:

“Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee – and I personally as the committee's chairman – strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine O'Donnell in Delaware.

“I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support. This support includes a check for $42,000 – the maximum allowable donation that we have provided to all of our nominees – which the NRSC will send to her campaign today.

“We remain committed to holding Democrat nominee New Castle County Executive Chris Coons accountable this November, as we inform voters about his record of driving his county to the brink of bankruptcy and supporting his party's reckless spending policies in Washington.

“In the weeks ahead, we will decide where to best allocate additional financial resources among the large number of competitive races at stake this November. While it's not in Republicans' interest to advertise our spending strategy to our opponents, it's worth noting that just yesterday, the NRSC's first independent expenditure ad aired in support of Dr. Rand Paul's campaign in Kentucky, where we firmly believe that he will win in November.

“It remains to be seen whether national Democrats will provide a similar level of support for many of their nominees, including in key battleground states like Indiana, Ohio, Florida, Arkansas, Illinois, and New Hampshire, among others. The Democrats' indecision reflects the fact that Republicans are on offense in at least 12 Democrat-held states and we are leading in the polls in seven of those 12 states.

“Finally, on the matter of the New Hampshire Senate race, while the results remain outstanding, we continue to monitor the Republican primary race, and we stand ready to fully support whichever candidate is chosen as the nominee.”

In this instance, I am an optimist. I believe the tea party will win big in November.

The fight hasn’t even begun, and you seem prepared to concede, already. The fate of our nation is at risk. You know this. You also know we don’t need reach across the aisle rinos serving our interests. We need conservatives with balls to fight the socialists and marxists. And, if they happen to be women, well, one has to wonder where have all the conservative men gone? Bought out, sold out, posers.

I am supporting the momma grizzlies to return our nation to it’s birthright.

No, being in favor of Constitutional gov’t is not extreme in your opinion or mine. Unfortunately, to voters in Blue states and purple states, it is. And that’s the entire point.

The question is, who will support the NRSC?

BTW, Karl Rove is on Fox with Hannity cheerleading the DNC talking points against O’Donnell. Doing the work for the DNC.

Here’s your sign.

Very interesting question. Rush let Karl sub for him a couple weeks ago.

Apologize for an old friend or call him on it?

*****************

When Rove was hawking his book Rush gave him one of Rush’s rare (but always outstanding) interviews. He allowed Rove to just destroy himself, relating one “error”, “surprise” and “miscalculation” after another in dealing with the Obamachine.

I think the guest host spot was a final chance at redemption for Rove. There won’t be another.

Karl Rove, love him or hate him, sees the big picture. He’s a smart guy and understands putting liberal Dems in the Senate who will never vote for anything conservative is worse than having a liberal Republican that will vote conservatively 50% of the time. It’s a no brainer.

I’ve never liked them anyway. Only reason they ever get my vote is because the dem will NEVER get my vote, and the libertarian will never win. So either vote libertarian, which is basicly giving the dem a one vote advantage, or vote for the republican and watch him only stomp on half my freedom “for my own good”.

I pray you are right. I fear you are wrong and we will have squandered a great chance to throw liberals on their arse.

I have no doubt in my mind that they are paid by the Democrats to sabotage the Conservative Republicans elections.

The more they do this, the stronger we get, we will never forget, we have become BADGERS.

He's politically smart, cunning, and calculating. But in this instance, Karl is having trouble seeing the forest for the trees. IWOs, he's stuck on stupid. His glock has a lock. His game plan no longer plays, because the rules have changed.

That said, do you really think O'Donnell is a rino, who will vote liberal 50% of the time?

I’m a pragmatist. In Alaska, a strong conservative state, I applaud Miller winning. In Nevada and Delaware, where a strong conservative with borderline views will lose the general, I don’t see anything positive about it at all.

***********

I agree with you. I think that it is wise to keep good relations, contracts and active trade open with the Crown.

Those radicals at Valley Forge won’t last the winter anyway.

It is only wisdom to play it safe.

Uhm, no, I don’t think O’Donnell is a RINO who will vote liberal 50% of the time. I think she’s a conservative who will vote 0% of the time for conservatives because she can’t win. Thus, the 50% I’d get out of Castle is better than the 0% I get from O’Donnell who has to explain her whack job lawsuit on anger management and other fun stuff the next two months.

I agree, there is never going to be a better chance than now to seize control of the party, better to fail, than to never try, and this opportunity may never come around again.

Yes, it is not too much of a stretch to see the Establishment Republicans just continue on and take it one step further, and JOIN the Democrats all the way to November, in all those contests where Tea Party people
are running.

Ok, that’s done. Back to politics. ;-)
