Rove bashes O’Donnell; O’Donnell supporter at victory party strikes back
Michelle Malkin ^ | 09/14/2010 | Michelle Malkin

I just finished watching Karl Rove trashing GOP Senate primary winner Christine O’Donnell. It was on Sean Hannity’s FNC show. Might as well have been Olbermann on MSNBC. The establishment Beltway strategist couldn’t even bother with an obligatory word of congratulations for O’Donnell. He criticized her “character” and “rectitude” and claimed she hadn’t answered questions about her financial woes. She did so here. Rove mocked her security concerns as “nutty.” Yet, her concerns have been more than justified. See here.

Rove came across as an effete sore loser instead of the supposedly brilliant and grounded GOP strategist that he’s supposed to be. Expect more Washington Republicans to start sounding like Tea Party-bashing libs as their entrenched incumbent friends go down.

At O’Donnell’s victory speech, she invited a 9/12 patriot to speak. He sent a special message right back to Rove, recounting how Rove had met with Delaware 9/12-ers and Tea Party folks to try and convince them to back the “more electable” candidate. “No one is going to tell us how to take care of business,” the 9/12-er said he told Rove. And now, he observed, the “more electable” candidate Rove wanted them to vote for has been…unelected.

The Freedomist reports more details of the meeting:

Rove Tried to Cut a Deal For Castle With Tea Party- Teaparty News- The Collier Brothers

Sources at the Christine O’Donnell victory party revealed to The Freedomist that in December of last year Karl Rove met with Tea Party leaders in Dover, Delaware trying to get them to cut a “deal” in which they would leave Mike Castle alone and NOT support O’Donnell.

The Freedomist has also learned that Rove was allegedly acting as an operative, although in what capacity it is not known, even as he is playing the role of a political analyst on Fox New in a fair and balanced way.

This “fight” with the establishment may be a setup. I think the best chance O’Donnell has is if she catches lightning in a bottle as someone not beholden to either party. This Rove “spat” may be good strategery.

“I read somewhere that the first 4 years of the Bush Presidency, GWB was guided by Cheney and that the second term was all Rove.”

Rove=John Bitney (murkowski campaign mgr, former Palin leg. affairs director and all around schleppe) on a national scale.

Rove needs to get out of the way. He has no credibility anymore. Compassionate conservatism was just kissing up to the enemy, the leftists.

I used to think he was a good guy.

No degree of soft socialism is good, though I didn’t recognize it for what it was when it was happening. Yes. I’m a graduate with a minor in political science. Hangs head in shame.

Rove will not live this one down. He has done grave damage to his brand.

The real Turd Blossum showed up on Fox tonight. I wonder if Sean will continue to grovel at his feet and call him "The Architect".

Hannity, to his credit, really argued with Rove and defended O'Donnell. He said we can't move forward with RINOs. Now someone just has to tell Hannity that McLame is the biggest one.

FReepers: The Rove-Hannity "debate" tonight was pretty amazing... eye-opening, to say the least. Hannity re-airs at 12 midnight ET, if you missed it earlier.

O’Donnell is not the problem. Castle did this to himself. His votes did it. Worst offense, he voted for Cap & Trade. All Congressmen who voted for Cap & Trade are either Traitors or simply too stupid to hold public office. All Must be Removed, No Exceptions.

They just don’t get it. . . It’s We the People, not We the Government. I’m so glad that the Tea Partyer’s won the first round.

“Wow. Just Wow! I am learning alot this evening. Shocked and saddened by people who I thought were fighting the good fight. Open your eyes everyone!”

I agree whole heartedly. This sure has been an eye opener of an election cycle.

No one should be surprised that Rove/ Bush were establishment types. Elitism is annoying even among conservatives.

They are elitists. But they are not conservatives and never have been. I'm not being revisionist, or just discovering it. I voted both time for him, would do it again. But not because I was under any illusions.

Bush's people screwed conservative candidates and conservatives in general for his 8 years. But our alternative was commie loons.

Sadly Rove has joined the ruling class. At least we still have Rush on our side — truly the last man standing.

To Rove and the inside the beltway types this is a strategic game like chess and they really get blinded by the tactics and they forget the battle plan.

Not much legislation that they pass affects them - but it affects our LIVES, our children’s futures - it is real to us.

Defender’s always have the advantage - the passion.

“I don’t consider Sean Hannity a conservative”.

Sean is in fact a committed Conservative.

Crying going on on both sides.

I’m not one of them but maybe it’s because I’m not a newly minted conservative and know what to expect. I think a lot of people are newly active to this.

I don’t expect the GOP to support her. I would even agree it would be best to devote more funds to say Angle? Since she’s tied and has a better chance to win. The trouble with the GOP is that they’ll go all out and throw money away on longshots if they personally approved them. A little hypocrisy there. Fairness would dictate they cut everyone off if they are too far behind. They don’t and I think people are railing about that onesided bias.

I’m laughing though. It’s not often we get to see just how deep the wound inflicted on these insiders has been. I hope to see more frothing from them.

The patriots in this country are functioning in emergency mode. Scum RINO’s are to be flushed as the phony, self-serving, corrupt, stinking, amoral traitors to the US Constitution. Hopefully, they will never get anywhere near good office in their miserable, wasted lives. For years, they’ve sat on their plush behinds while the republic burns, caring not a whit for the shining city on a hill, willfully helping decadence along just to swipe a few votes from the ignorant gimme babies the ruthlessly scoundrel, foul, pestilent democrap libs have nurtured over the years. To maintain their gravy train to the good life.

Election after election people like Rove told us to hold our nose and vote for the “electable” candidates. Conservatives, according to them, could not get enough moderate votes to win. We went along and look at the damage the RINOs did to the party and country. After all those elections where, like good little boys and girls, we did what they asked, now we ask and they say FU. It's even more clear. The only thing to do is vote them all out.
