Elizabeth Warren To Be Appointed to Help Create Consumer Finance Protection Bureau

President Obama will select Elizabeth Warren to join the administration in a special advisory role to help form the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a watchdog agency she first proposed back in 2007.

The move, first reported by ABC News' Jake Tapper, gives Warren an important role in creation of the bureau, but avoids, for now, a confirmation fight in the Senate. Her selection will appease a slew of prominent lawmakers, progressives, and labor unions who in recent months have clamored for her nomination to the post.

After all, the new agency -- part of the sweeping Wall Street reform bill that passed Congress earlier this summer -- was Warren's brainchild. In 2007 Warren, the Harvard Law professor and bailout watchdog, proposed the creation of "a new regulatory body to protect consumers who use credit cards, home mortgages, car loans, and a host of other products.

She's poison.

Look for financial stocks to dive when she is appointed.

More over educated, utopian idiots given the power to ruin the lives of millions.

It goes like this. In order to create the appearance that government is on top of things, it creates agencies to solve the problems it creates, thus creating more problems . . .

Oh, and Article I, Section 1, which grants all legislative authority under the Constitution to Congress? It was repealed by Scotus decades ago.

“in a special advisory role”

Bogus.

They dumped her from TARP oversight board a week ago because she was asking to many good questions.

50-50 chance this “special” role is a sop to her supporters, and she is hemmed in.

Business Cultists can rest easy, 50% chance.

“Special”

“advisory”

“role”

“to help form”

“gives Warren an important role in creation of the bureau”

Nope. She 50-50 this is more Chicago flim flam. That new agency, which is unnecessary, was to create a new set of seats Obama and Geithner could stack.

If she were honorable, she would reject this. I doubt it. She will give them a chance, again, then be betrayed, again.

Maybe they will give her full powers over curtain selections for the new offices.

The Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection is not housed under the executive branch with Congressional oversight enabled. The Bureau is EXCLUSIVELY WITH THE CONTROL of the Federal Reserve, a foreign corporation which will appoint 10 council members to interface with the Treasury appointment of Eliz Warren. The Bureau is accountable to NO ONE, apparently.

Have we all been disenfranchised financially, and are we in effect in a form of indirect “recivership” for total data monitoring of our accounts and transactions with intended manipulative control of our “consumership”?

Control of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection should be removed from the Fed Reserve and returned to the Congress.

She was one of my law professors some years ago. She’s liberal/progressive but not as far to the left as a Cass Sunstein or some of the other Czars.

She is an expert on bankruptcy laws, particularly creditor’s rights. I’m not surprised if she was kicked off a Tarp oversight board for asking good questions.
