WJLA-TV fires veteran anchor Doug McKelway, cites insubordination, misconduct

WJLA-TV has fired veteran anchorman Doug McKelway for a verbal confrontation this summer with the station's news director that came after McKelway broadcast a sharply worded live report about congressional Democrats and President Obama.

McKelway was placed on indefinite suspension in late July after his run-in with ABC7's news director and general manager, Bill Lord. In a letter to McKelway this week, the station said it was terminating his contract immediately, citing insubordination and misconduct.

Yup: any move away from the liberal views of the Mass Media is punished by losing your job.

So Sebilius has threatened insurance companies with being banned from gub mint contracts if they say anything against the obammy line.
Sounds like the media is getting and sending the same message.
Illegal? You betcha.

The last thing he should have said to his now ex-boss is, "You can't handle the truth?"

“...In his piece, McKelway said the sparsely attended event attracted protesters “largely representing far-left environmental groups.” He went on to say the protest “may be a risky strategy because the one man who has more campaign contributions from BP than anybody else in history is now sitting in the Oval Office, President Barack Obama, who accepted $77,051 in campaign contributions from BP...”

Sounds like another good candidate for a job at Fox Cable News. They are constantly hiring disgruntled former or current employees of other cable news stations. Hope Fox makes him an offer.

There is an opening at Fox News (Brian Wilson was fired for throwing a behind-the-scenes temper tantrum). Bet this guy gets an offer.

Bill Lord used to be news director at KIRO in Seattle. KIRO is a full left-wing piece of krap(tm) whose news division’s headed by motor mouth anchors whose self importance is second only to... ummm, well, nothing. The whole station is arrogant and they act like @$$holes- even off the air. Their news cameramen think nothing of stepping in front of other cameras to get their shot by screwing up the other’s. Their helicopter has done things that have jeopardized public safety -and even common sense and courtesy.

(KIRO’s current head meteorologist is smokin’ hot and a thousand times not guilty, though.)

So Bill Lord certainly has the credentials and background to be the libtard head-Ego in charge. Like most snooze media heads. “News” Director is just a department title, which has nothing to do with the liberal lies and spin they spread on a hourly basis, attempting to pass it off as “news”.

“McKelway broadcast a sharply worded live report....”

Ah, I see where the poor guy went wrong. He was hired to be a REPEATER, not reporter.

Seriously, I live in the region and the only time I turn on the local news when there are severe storms coming through. Otherwise, it’s just a breathless repeat the day’s DNC talking points.

With the expansion of government control, people who step out of line will eventually lose access to health care, mortgages, student loans, etc.

Awwww. Sorry. Your paperwork seems to have been lost.
