Joe Miller tells National Review Online that Sen. Lisa Murkowski, a member of the ruling class, is refusing to relinquish power.
Miller, Alaskas GOP Senate nominee, defeated Murkowski in an August primary. In a press conference tonight in Anchorage, Murkowski announced her plans to continue in the race as a write-in candidate. Miller says that he has been told directly by senior GOP senators that Murkowski will now lose her seniority and her committee positions.
Miller says Murkowskis move should shock anyone with integrity, calling it another example of how her lifeblood is power. She has, he says, a disconnection from reality.
[Murkowski] is going back on her word, Miller continues. She gave her word several days before the primary that she would respect the primary outcome.
This is a write-in campaign for a person named Lisa Murkowski, Miller says. We are not terribly concerned about it. It doesnt change our approach. Our calculus is that we win. It is now Joe Miller versus the liberals.
Miller agrees with Sarah Palin, who earlier tonight in Iowa predicted that Murkowskis effort will be futile. It will end in failure, Miller says. She is going to throw a lot of money away just to mud sling.
UPDATE:
Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, NRSC chair, reacts:
Republican primary voters spoke when they nominated Joe Miller in Alaska, and I am deeply disappointed in Senator Lisa Murkowskis decision to ignore that clear message and wage a write-in candidacy. The NRSC stands firmly behind Joe Millers nomination, and we will ensure that he has all of the resources that he needs in order to win this November.
Sen. Mitch McConnell, Senate GOP leader, weighs in:
Senate Republicans informed Lisa Murkowski that we will respect the will of the voters in Alaska and support the Republican nominee, Joe Miller. I informed her that by choosing to run a campaign against the Republican nominee, she no longer has my support for serving in any leadership roles, and I have accepted her letter of resignation from Senate leadership. Lisa has served her state and our party with distinction, but Republicans acknowledge the decision Alaskans made and join them in support of the Republican nominee, Joe Millerthe next Senator for Alaska.
Nothing like the smell of burnt RINO flesh...
There cant be two Republicans in the race.
That should read Lisa Murkowski (I-AK).
And the GOP needs to move quickly to strip her of her affilliation, all committees, and funding.
She is running against the Republican candidate now, and the party must do everything it can to help their nominee and not aid outside threats to the party.
This will be a test of the GOP, whether or not it deserves continued existence at all.

Mama was a rolling stone
Wherever Murk hung her hat was her home
They must have some good stuff on the Skunk. They are getting ready to bust Crist here in Florida for scamming.
At least Cornyn got this one right.
Asked and answered from the other thread. Good. I’m glad she is being cut loose.
Miller just told Greta that the Princess (formerly R-AK) left a nasty voicemail on his phone after the primary. He wouldn’t quote from the message, only saying it was inappropriate.
Guess what? Alaska is a one party consent state. Think he saved the voicemail? Think he is laying down a marker warning her he has it? Is she totally delusional to overlook this little fact that his phone might contain the makings of a great TV ad?
On a related note, do you tink Tokyo Rove will spend half the energy denouncing Murkowski as he has O’Donnell?
The people chose someone else, and she's not humble enough to accept that. This needs to be drummed early, long and hard. She needs to be exposed for what she is. FAST
Wonder what side she’ll be on in the lame duck session?
Cornyn and McConnell reacted with the speed of a bullet. Could it be that they are beginning to “get it?”
“I informed her that by choosing to run a campaign against the Republican nominee, she no longer has my support for serving in any leadership roles,”
Not nearly good enough she needs to be kicked out of the Party.
I am going to guess the Dems will
Fund Lisa in an effort to split the vote
Pour money into the ad business here - just like they did with Ted.
Lisa is now full of FAIL.
He got burned after the O’Donnell win when the word went out that the RNSC was not going to support her, and he’s not going to make that mistake again.
Tea Party people in every state and abroad are watching every move the Republican machine makes VERY closely.
Personally, I think the people of Alaska will really react negatively to someone breaking their word and being a poor sport.
I hope they understand that we’re not going to stop watching after the election. We expect them to govern like Conservatives too.
It’s not good enough for Mitch McConnel and Cornyn to just “release” a statement.
THEY MUST APPEAR ON TV and denounce her...
