A. Introduction
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), under the auspices of the Office of Research and Development (ORD), National Center for Environmental Research (NCER), invites submissions to the 8th Annual P3-People, Prosperity & the Planet-Awards: A National Student Design Competition for Sustainability. P3 focuses on scientific projects and engineering designs that address the three components of sustainability: people, prosperity and the planet. The P3 Program is intended to support science-based projects and designs developed by interdisciplinary student teams that benefit people by improving their quality of life, promote prosperity by developing local economies, and protect the planet by conserving resources and minimizing pollution. Additional details about EPAs sustainability research can be found in EPAs Sustainability Research Strategy (2007) (PDF) (PDF, 72pp, 1.38MB) which presents the role of EPAs Office of Research and Development in improving understanding of the earths natural and man-made systems, assessing threats to those systems, and developing and applying new technologies and decision support tools.
The concept of sustainable development became widely promoted following the 1987 publication of Our Common Future by the World Commission on Environment and Development (World Commission on Environment and Development, 1987). That document defined sustainability as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Agenda 21 (United Nations, 1992), adopted at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) held in Rio de Janerio, Brazil in June 1992, built on that foundation to provide a comprehensive plan of action to be taken globally, nationally and locally by organizations of the United Nations System, Governments, and Major Groups in every area in which human activity impacts the environment.

I’m so tired of this “SUSTAINABILITY” nonsense.
It’s godless liberalism that is making it a challenge to EXIST with their HATE of LIFE in all forms.
Its godless liberalism that is making it a challenge to EXIST with their HATE of HUMAN LIFE in all forms.
If these people really care about “people, prosperity, and the planet, why don’t they go the continent of Africa? This continent as a whole, is pathetic. The place has been looted, stripped, mismanaged or have non-functioning governments while the people are literally starving to death. It is not from the lack of money. The Western societies have poured billions and billions of dollars into different areas that have been ravaged by war lords, despots, charismatic leaders and sociopaths. Yet not one has enough honest people to make a difference. It takes honest people to make a human organization work. Wonder why we are having the difficulty in Washington D.C.? Not enough honest people to make things work. November 2, 2010 might just be our last chance for our republic. If not, learn to live by eating caterpillars, they been eating them in Africa for a long time.
Treadmills powered by Liberals and Politicians might be the answer.
I believe the only thing any bureaucrat - especially these activist loons - want to “sustain” is their own power structure and funding.
“Agenda 21 (United Nations, 1992), adopted at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) held in Rio de Janerio, Brazil in June 1992, built on that foundation to provide a comprehensive plan of action to be taken globally, nationally and locally “
Agenda 21....can’t be....for YEARS the country club republicans have told some of us that was just a product of our wild imagination!
“Sustainability” is the liberals replacement for Gorebull warming.
This so called Sustainablity is anti human, anti capitalism and anti America bs makes Gorebull Warming look like TBall compared to Pro Baseball.
Ten years of warning FReepers about Agenda 21 and it hasn’t done one iota of good.
“Ten years of warning FReepers about Agenda 21 and it hasnt done one iota of good.”
Now, that’s a sad fact, isn’t it? It sure did get us called lots of lovely names, though, didn’t it?
More today:

[snip]President Obama will attend the Sept. 20-22 Summit on the Millennium Development Goals to not only endorse “global taxes”, but the full implementation of Agenda 21 in the U.S.
