Not a bad choice at all. And his trips to NH and Iowa indicate he may be running for the job. That's good news.

Wasn’t “Honest Abe” the last current or former congressman (only office held) elected president? Remind me what year that was? And wasn’t that in a 4-way race?

Pleasantly surprised. That would be a good choice.

I’m a Palin supporter, but Pence would be a welcome addition. In 1980, Phil Crane was considered more conservative than Reagan himself. His presence made the whole campaign better, not worse. Palin herself seems to believe in a more the merrier approach to the primary.

And the thread posted just before this one is, "Palin Draws Record Crowd [Iowa GOP's Reagan Dinner].

Remind me again about the nationwide enthusiastic support Mike Pence has generated for a 2012 presidential bid?

Pissant, your relentless quest to find any article that undermines Sarah Palin is becoming laughable.

Pence is my top choice for President at the moment, but of course it will depend on the candidates’ platforms. Right now they can just talk, but in a year or so they’ll have to take stands on specific issues like amnesty.

If Pence runs, he has my support.

Pence would have been my choice in 2008 had he ran. I hope he runs in 2012. Along with DeMint, Pence is one of the few prospective candidates who actually opposed overspending when it came from the GOP. He was one of the ones who led the House revolt against the Bush/McCain/Palin supported TARP bill.

Frankly, I resent someone sanctifying a prospective candidate for the Presidency, especially before any have declared their candidacy. I always thought that they had to contest for the privilege!

I recall getting a sick feeling about his illegal immigration stand, kinda like with W.

I can go with Pence, but Paul Ryan is the man.

I’d like Pence and DeMint on a ticket together. Not sure who to put at the top though?

Pence is a good man. He could be at the top of my list if I knew he was reliable on border security and immigration. On the last Jorge Bush/Juan McShame amnesty push, however, if I remember correctly Pence was trying to triangulate rather than defeat it outright.

Other than that weakness, which is huge in my opinion, he’s solid.

Sarah is not going to run for VP again. I wish the media would quit with this nonsense.
