A mother-of-four has been left with a two-inch-long metal pin poking out from her elbow after a botched hospital operation.
And when Mary Goodswen, 59, complained about the surgery on her broken bone, she was told she would have to wait a month to have it fixed.
Doctors even suggested sticking a piece of cork on the end to prevent any accidents while she waited.

Coming soon to a hospital near you???
Coming to a country (ours) soon unless it is derailed. Which, even in my darkest moments, think will happen.
I actually day dream about Darrel Issa getting into the position to start REALLY investigating and bringing to justice the fraud that has been perpetrated upon our people.
I thought the limey doctor would say ‘would u like that cork shaken or stirred?”
The doctor who did this should be kneecapped.
The physicians would not like where I’d place the cork.
If this was the state of health care in a capitalist country it would be all over the news. The MSM won't cover a story like this because it is taking place in a country which has had socialized medicine since the 1950s.
Comments at the originating site suggest that this is like third world medicine.
Except in the third world, if you did get back to the doctor he would probably fix it up pretty soon rather than sticking you weeks out on a calendar.
bttt
Bump!
> The physicians would not like where Id place the cork.
I hope your intention is to still have the bottle attached to it when you place the cork where they wouldn’t want it.
Unbelievable!! This is our future under obamacare
What bottle?
A month is most of the time it takes for a bone to heal. If this wire was needed to support the bone (rather than being merely redundant with whatever else was put in there to support the bone), then she will quite possibly have a permanently crippled arm waiting for that month. This is a view of Obamacare in a few years.
The flip side is that the wire might be redundant and removing it now would cause more problems with healing than leaving it as it is for a month. Please consult a non-NHS orthapedist to find the truth.
Those doctors are cold b@stards.
“Better put some ice on that.”
That pic makes me want to crawl under the bed.
I’ve had pins (temporary) through the metatarsals of both feet. Any impact on that pin/wire is transmitted through the bone and limb. It’s like getting an electrical shock while chewing a piece of aluminum foil.
I can’t look at this thread anymore.
I don't think there are very many limey doctors or nurses left in the NHS. The pay and conditions are so bad that potential British healthcare workers have gone into other fields, so they've had to bring in tons of third-worlders to run the operation.
There's at least some possibility that the doctor in question is "Asian," which is to say a Muslim Pakistani, or maybe a Palestinian or North African, like those doctors who tried to bomb the airport a few years ago.
Here's what ObamaCare does: It changes your relationship with your doctor.
Now, your doctor is someone you hire. You can take your business elsewhere... he needs you. You're the customer.
Under ObamaCare you're the equivalent of a charity case - your doctor offers medical care on a 'take it or leave it' basis. You have no place else to go. You're 'in line at the Department of Motor Vehicles'.
Under ObamaCare the only people doctors will care about will be politicians who can offer favors to them. Doctors with integrity will leave the field - they won't want people they care for being treated badly. A doctor shortage will be followed by 'affirmative action' choices. The best and brightest will no longer go into medicine. And the folks who do, typical bureaucratic types, will make many more mistakes... on you, your children and grandkids.
My English auntie had a knee replacement, her knee cap is on the side of her leg now and she had cataract surgery where something went wrong and she has left sitting hunched over in the dark for weeks until they would see her again. That was in England, but then again
I have a friend whose 85 year old father had fluid on his chest and when the daughter called the VA for an urgent care appt was told they would see him next Wed, this was Thurs. Also someone we know waited 18 months for an appt at Walter Reed then another 6 for the requested scans then another 6 for the next appt only to be told the scans were now to old to use so new ones were needed. Waiting on that appt now.
Our daughter says Obama care already exists the military has had it for years.
