Fifty-two percent (52%) of Likely U.S. Voters say their own views are closer to Sarah Palins than they are to President Obamas, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.
Just 40% say their views are closer to the presidents than to those of the former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate.
Among the Political Class, however, 68% say their views are more like Obamas, while 63% of Mainstream voters describe their views as more like Palins.

52% of unaffiliated voters with favorable opinion of Palin in Rasmussen's first direct polling of Palin since late last year.
i am shocked, shocked i tell ya
“Among the Political Class, however, 68% say their views are more like Obamas, while 63% of Mainstream voters describe their views as more like Palins.”
That’s why the political class is dead meat on November 2nd.
Things that make you go “Hmmmm,,,,”
Libs will continue to call Palin “extreme” and “far right”.\
These terms have been so overused.
Pinging pissant.... OUCH!!!
Who are the “political class”?
You forgot racist
“political class” is unAmerican and has no business existing in America
Ahh yes, the “Political Class”.
Therein lies the core problem in our political dialogue.
These people who strive to act like they speak for us are in reality speaking against more of us than they realize.
Thought for the day,,,
Ever notice that the only “qualification” not required for President,,,, is a passionate love for America? Thats why the political class hates Sarah. (Murkowski,, she mopped the floor with your political machine,,,lol)
The “Political Class”......I think someone is going to have to define that for me. What list of characteristics is used to enable polling only “the political class”. Help me out here.
What is the political class.
Define the political class.
And “islamophobe and homophobe”.
Only 52% ?
Oh boy! Wow. Sarah List is getting so long, it’s taking a while to post! It timed-out on me twice...LOL.
“political class is unAmerican and has no business existing in America”
This what the theme of November 2nd is about. The destruction of the political class in America.
She needs to jump in the race now. And blunt the RINOs.
Manna for the Mama Grizzly. She’s gonna be so fattened up politically that by the time she comes out next spring, she’ll be loaded and ready for, well, bear.
Somebody please send this to Drudge... I’d love to see the liberal and RINO heads explode this afternoon/evening.
Here’s the calculus Ras uses to define political class and mainstream:
“The Political Class Index is based on three questions. All three clearly address populist tendencies and perspectives, all three have strong public support, and, for all three questions, the populist perspective is shared by a majority of Democrats, Republicans and those not affiliated with either of the major parties. We have asked the questions before, and the results change little whether Republicans or Democrats are in charge of the government.
In many cases, the gap between the Mainstream view and the Political Class is larger than the gap between Mainstream Republicans and Mainstream Democrats.
The questions used to calculate the Index are:
— Generally speaking, when it comes to important national issues, whose judgment do you trust more - the American people or Americas political leaders?
— Some people believe that the federal government has become a special interest group that looks out primarily for its own interests. Has the federal government become a special interest group?
— Do government and big business often work together in ways that hurt consumers and investors?
To create a scale, each response earns a plus 1 for the populist answer, a minus 1 for the political class answer, and a 0 for not sure.
Those who score 2 or higher are considered a populist or part of the Mainstream. Those who score -2 or lower are considered to be aligned with the Political Class. Those who score +1 or -1 are considered leaners in one direction or the other.
In practical terms, if someone is classified with the Mainstream, they agree with the Mainstream view on at least two of the three questions and dont agree with the Political Class on any.”
The question I now have, is what are the relative numbers or percentages of these two of the electorate? I would guess Mainstream is much larger but I haven’t see those percentages.
Truth wins, slowly but surely!
“.....76% of Republicans and 52% of unaffiliated voters now hold a favorable opinion of Palin.”
“...Unaffiliated voters by a 41% to 36% margin see Palin as good for the GOP.”
The chattering class and some potential rivals (like Pawlenty) say she can afford to wait because of her name ID. Translation: That's what they want her to do so they can get some traction.
Palin wrote in her book that she got into the governor's race early in 2005 because of the grassroots campaign she was going to run. My bet is that if she decides to run, she'll take your advice.
Unless it is his actions that speak louder than his words that have them jumping up and down. If that is the case these people are beyond hope.
You betcha! WOO-HOO!
.....76% of Republicans and 52% of unaffiliated voters now hold a favorable opinion of Palin.
...Unaffiliated voters by a 41% to 36% margin see Palin as good for the GOP.
- - - - - - - - -
Nice problem to have...LOL.
OH APHID! Look what you’ve done with the sweetest pic!
I love it.
I am glad to see that in a poll, because that's what I ask folks whenever I come across Palin haters. Surprisingly, too many actually think Sarah, not Tina Fey, said that she could see Russia from her house. Of course, you know where I live.
This is the best news I’ve heared in a long time. The tide maybe turning.
The false image is crumbling and the REAL Sarah Palin is emerging.
Thank you kindly!
Rush just mentioned this poll as it relates to more people holding Palin’s views than Obama’s. :)
And the rats, LSM and obamao will continue to insult them as extremist fringe. I can’t wait until November.
If it gets any bigger; You might have to split the SPP list into two.
Compare the 52% of independent voters who give Palin the thumbs up with Rasmussen while PPP this month pegs her F with indies at 34%.
The polarizing meme is dead and so is the unelectability meme.
These numbers are tectonic.
The genie is now out of the bottle.
I know! I am listening. Woo-Hoo!
Yep, maybe, but I think my postings stall, because I post the my pings with a photo of Sarah.
Someone needs to dig into the internals and find out how PPP manipulates their numbers. I'm of the opinion that they are anything but incompetent. I think they know exactly how to manipulate their numbers to drive a narrative.
Good post and thanks for the h/t on this poll.
