Congressman Paul Ryan Latest to Call For Truce on Pro-Life, Social Issues

Washington, DC -- Congressman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin became the latest potential presidential candidate and Republican with a national profile to call for a "truce" on social issues. He joins Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels and Mississippi Gov. Hailey Barbour, who called for Republicans to back down on pro-life issues.

"We will agree to disagree on those issues," Ryan said Monday on CNBC. "But let's rally around the tallest pole in our tent: fiscal conservatism, economic liberty."

Sell our souls for riches?

The Democrat Party is contradictory and hypocritical on virtually ever issue precisely, IMO, because their most passionately held and vociferously defended issue involves having made a deal with the Devil over the value of the lives of human beings while conversely claiming to be "for the little guy".

When you start building on an unsound foundation, no matter how big and intricate the building, it cannot stand the test of time and/or storm.

Why would the alternative party wish to move further in the same direction?

to call for a “truce” on social issues.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Answer: NO! HELL NO!

1) Abortion: An unalienable right from our Creator is LIFE! If life is denied there is no opportunity for liberty or pursuit of happiness.

2) Homosexual marriage: Also...The push for gay marriage is merely a wedge to silence and discriminate against and oppress Christians in the workplace, schooling, and all other social venues.

If Paul Ryan can’t understand that then he is a flaming idiot!

Dear Paul:

Morality is measured mainly by TWO things: ethics in business, which you are for, and ethics in sexuality: which you seem to have problems with.

The trouble is that these things are NOT separable, because at the core of business ethics is respect for contract and honesty.

Marital infidelity breaches both. The products of infidelity are the fruit of a poison tree, we bring them into our world with too heavy a burden forever attached onto them. Abortions and birth control are no real cure — for abortions are like murder, and leave an indelible mark on the persona and blight on souls of the parents. Birth control? Well that is lesser a direct mark, but it induces an attitude of callousness and selfishness — the hallmark of Sodom.

Abortions create a great despair of constant victimhood in a culture, birth control allows selfishness, combined with infidelity: no culture can survive these very long.

And look! Just as our culture tolerated and then celebrated sexually libertine amorality, so too did our books go bad. That’s right! The two morally-based areas: sex and business — are inseparably joined.

I am reminded of the bible story where the devil tempts Jesus. The devil offers Jesus all the world and its kingdoms if Jesus will just bow down and worship him.

Well...What Paul Ryan wants to do is worship the devil in exchange for power.

I mean, come on. We have opposition that isn’t quiting and in fact is doubling down every time you turn around. Look at California where the liberals are thwarting the people’s decision to ban gay marriage.

The opposition is not stopping, how possibly can those in favor of traditional rights? I say this as a person who ranks fiscal issues and defense issues as top priorities, but I recognize the constitutionality issues in in front of us on social values.

The GOP no longer sees abortion as a successful wedge issue to corral votes. The first appointment of GOP favorite, Gov Christie, was his veep. He chose a pro choicer. Pro-life is no longer a GOP exclusive, as one by one, they ‘come out of the closet’.

No.

That might be acceptable if the legt radicals could be counted on not to push. But they can't.

The social issues are far more important than the fiscal ones, as they fuel the increase in spending.

The fiscal issues are just symptoms, the social issues are the root cause.

On a moral level, abortion and slavery are the same because they both consider the victims subhuman and owned by someone. Mr. Ryan is selling his soul out for power, what a very sad thing to witness.

Doesn't sound like they're saying IGNORE the social issues, just concentrate on economic issues for this election, since that's the issue on which most Independent voters will be concentrating, and on which they can be our allies to kick the Dems out of Congress.

We Tea Partiers are a diverse crowd; some are fiscal conservatives, or libertarians, some are social conservatives, who happen to also be fiscal conservatives. But NONE of us will have a prayer of getting any of our issues heard, unless there are people in the actual positions to do anything about them.

Most of the primaries are over, and the candidates have been chosen for this time around. Lets rally behind the most conservative of the candidates, which, for the vast majority, will mean the Republican one. If we can take over the majorities in the House and Senate, we can either roll back, or stop in their tracks, the changes the Dems wanted to force on us.

When that happens, it will be time for we who are also social conservatives to start working on finding candidates who value life, and are willing to fight against the cultural decline we've seen over the last 40 years, in addition to still upholding the issues of less government and lower taxes.

One of the reasons we've seen such a change in our country is that liberals were willing to work for those changes incrementally. That meant that some elections, they had to put up with someone who wasn't ideologically pure, but would increase the Dem majority in Congress to the point that they had enough actual VOTES to push through the changes they wanted made. That's one lesson we conservatives need to learn. We will NEVER get what we want, if we hold our candidates to such unreasonable standards of purity that they will never be elected by a majority of voters. I'm not saying vote for pro-abortion candidates, because I certainly don't, but don't reject those who could be our allies but for some squishiness on homosexuality or immigration, which, while important, aren't anywhere near as important as the basic issue of life.

Somehow Ronald Reagan and Mother Teresa did not agree with these lawmakers.

President Reagan presents Mother Teresa with the Medal of Freedom

Mother Teresa of Calcutta once said: "It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish."

The greatest challenge facing the western world is not violence from without, but the tragic decision to take a life within.

Dear Mr. Ryan:

We are conservatives because we pledge our lives, fortunes and Sacred Honor to uphold the principles of the Declaration of Independence. We are fiscal conservaties BECAUSE OF those principles. Without those principles there is NO BASIS to be a "fiscal conservative." A "fiscal conservative" is a RINO who wants to spend less of the fruit of your labor than a liberal.

As Lincoln said:

I have often inquired of myself, what great principle or idea it was that kept this Confederacy so long together. It was not the mere matter of the separation of the Colonies from the motherland; but that sentiment in the Declaration of Independence which gave liberty, not alone to the people of this country, but, I hope, to the world, for all future time. It was that which gave promise that in due time the weight would be lifted from the shoulders of all men. This is a sentiment embodied in the Declaration of Independence. Now, my friends, can this country be saved upon that basis? If it can, I will consider myself one of the happiest men in the world, if I can help to save it. If it cannot be saved upon that principle, it will be truly awful. But if this country cannot be saved without giving up that principle, I was about to say I would rather be assassinated on this spot than surrender it.

LIFE: AN UNALIENABLE RIGHT
