If you are correct and she is going into the lion’s den... then more power to her! She is like her Momma Grizzly.

The guy she was with was wonderful! Funny song choice — she was OK.

Bristol has a life and certainly more chutzpah than Chelsea.

I clicked on the Leno show first and the way she talked (and moved) it sounded like dancing wasn’t her thing.

However, then I watched the clip of the actual dancing. I don’t watch the show and no nothing of dancing. BUT - she looked pretty good out there from the little that I know. I would have been turning the wrong ways, etc. She looked to be fairly loose and seemed to be having fun with it.

"The guy she was with was wonderful!"

That was Mark Ballas. You can tell he is a good character. His dad is the guy dancing with Florence Henderson.

Dancing With The Stars seems to be a pretty friendly show for contestants. Hopefully, Bristol will be on the show long enough to define herself to America, instead of letting the tabloids continue to do that.

Bristol and Chelsea are of different classes. We don't really need a wealthy royalty ruling all aspects of the country and in the White House. We have created a elite class of inbred pin heads. They are so dumbed down, and out of touch, it is pitiful. Bristol is Bristol and I am glad she is not that tight assed child of Hillary and whoever her father is.

She is a flesh and blood young woman. They can hurt her. I hope they don’t, but they are wicked to the core.

Male dancers are not exactly my thing, but he is certainly a pro. I have always liked the song, an early Randy Newman composition, but you have to wonder who chose it for this performance.

As for her performance, I'm glad she was well paid.

Yes they are wicked, but her goodness is very real as are her human frailties. Good people can see that up close in this show for the first time, as opposed to the lies in print media. Looking at her, every Mom like me sees her own daughter and will charge and trample those who seek to destroy her.

But really, what exactly makes Bristol a “star”. I just hope she doesn’t make a career out of riding on the coat tails of mommy.

Seems to me she should be pursuing a real career and taking care of her son.

She is also making $400,000.

I believe that figure might be overstated. From what I've read, unless they've increased the stakes for this season, those who participate each receive the sum of $200,000 with the winner of the competition receiving an extra $100,000. Despite the hard work involved, the base amount of $200,000 is a nice incentive.

she said she wasn’t a dancer, and no, surprize, she isn’t Ginger Rogers, but she is a young lady and she had some fun, and if her Mom wasn’t possibly the next republican President of the United States, no one would have noticed....

I was disappointed when Bristol went on Dancing With the Stars. It seems so undignified and inappropriate to me. First off, how is she a "star"? Although by the standards of the show, I guess she is. It amazes me that they can't get more celebrities to do the show-- most of their "stars" would be lucky to make the D list.

At least after this turn on the show, I don't want to hear any more complaints about loss of privacy or how "difficult" Bristol's life is. Most unwed teen mothers have to deal with consequences a bit more serious than photo spreads in People, TV shows, and apparently on-call child care while they pursue an entertainment career. The Dancing appearance, I think, blows any credibilty she had about being a serious advocate... though frankly I don't think she had any reason or business being a "public" figure anyway.

I was disappointed and thought Bristol being on the show was a tacky choice. After seeing her performance last night, I am disgusted. The whole parody of her mother was just in poor taste, and the song choice showed no class whatsoever. Is she planning to build an "entertainment" career on her mother? I guess next week she can dance to "Papa Don't Preach," or some equally dignified choice. Just seems to me that thumbing your nose at what your family is supposed to stand for is not much of a career.

I agree. She needs to stop doing things that undermine her mother. Levy and his family have done enough to cause PR problems. Bristol’s cheap behavior further damages her image.

Cute performance & okay way to make some money honestly & honorably.

She is an adult and entitled to live her own life. (and maybe capitalize a bit on her name!). This will not hurt Sarah’s career for honest voters.. just let the detractors get in a tizzy. They can’t fight on the real issues can they

Words fail me to describe how inappropriate Bristol is.

Ok. Was Marie Osmond inappropriate also?

The one I worry about is Flo Henderson, I hope she doesn’t have a stroke or HT. That show is hard work. All in all ABC does make sure the contestants don’t get slammed to bad. If you look at Kelli Osbourne, her 1st week was miserable, but she was like a butterfly comming out of a caccoon. It was very sweet to watch. Hope Bristol has a good time. She has had enough harrassmnet the last 3 years.

“...First off, how is she a “star”?...”

The same way Tom Delay and Buzz Aldrin are stars. Both of them certainly aren’t in the entertainment industry but they do have name recognition. Delay for being in congress. Aldrin for doing a couple of hours of live tv from the Sea of Tranquility back in 1969. They are not “stars” in the same sense that Florence Henderson or Jennifer Grey are but they are known personalities. Bristol will be fine. She did a good job last night. She held up good and looked great. She made a few errors but not any that would get her booted early.

Her problem is that she doesn’t have the fan base that the others have. Kurt Warner has the NFL crowd, Henderson has the Brady Bunch and Broadway crowd, Grey has the movie crowd and so on. She is also Sarah Palin’s daughter. That could work for her and against her, depending who you ask. Peronaly, I hope she goes far and earns her spot on her own merit. She has a lot to overcome to do that. Good luck, Bristol. Mark Ballas is a good teacher and dancer. Listen to him and you will go far in this endeavour.
