Just what Democrats need in West Virginia: More on the federal investigation of their Senate candidate, Gov. Joe Manchin.
We now know a major target of the federal probe into Gov. Joe Manchins administration and the Department of Highways is a multi-million dollar road that runs through Fairmont.
Subpoenas have been issued to the Department of Highways and the Office of Administration The Attorney Generals office is refusing to release any information about the investigation, despite media law experts who say the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requires the Attorney General to release the information
Larry Puccio, Manchins former chief of staff and current chair of the Democratic Party in West Virginia, also runs a real estate business in Fairmont. Sources believe Puccio could be part of the probe.
And just what they need in Illinois: Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., D-Ill., newly accused of trying to buy Obamas Senate seat.
Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. directed a major political fund-raiser to offer former Gov. Rod Blagojevich millions of dollars in campaign cash in return for an appointment to the U.S. Senate, sources said the fund-raiser has told federal authorities.
The allegation by Oak Brook businessman Raghuveer Nayak counters public statements made as recently as last week by Jackson that he never authorized any deal to attempt to buy the Senate seat.
still waitin’ for Blago to publish his memoirs...
After election day, will you change your handle to “TonyInRedOhio?”
Will never make it to the lamestream media.
We have to have coverage of the O Donnell accusations, dontcha know...
Good one! I've been using that nom de guerre since joining up, back in the Twentieth Century, so I guess I'll keep it. :)
Democrats: Culture of Corruption
Yeah COD dabbled in Wiccan stuff with a high school boy for two days in high school. She needs to emphasize that she is now 41 years old. Meanwhile, the rat corruption juggernaut continues unabated but what do the slimestream media talk about? COD’s high school dalliance with Wiccans over 20 years ago.
There was an earlier thread this morning on the same subject. A “social acquaintance” of Jackson’s was mentioned. Giavanna Huidobro. Jackson flew her around. Here’s what I posted on that thread;
“Now this is INTERESTING!
I did a net search lookin for pics of Giavanna Huidobro. One site was labeled Fotos of Giovanna Huidobro. It took me to a PORN STAR site! Her pic at this articles link shows a good-looking blond. A perfect gal for Tiger Woods! Jcube, Jesse Jr, might be gettin a lot of heat at home real soon!”
Her pic is at the link in this thread;
.....and not to mention Hillary and her seances with Eleanor Roosevelt, lol!
I don’t know what a wookie is, but Manchelle is an alky.
(What’s a wookie?)
There’s a coalburner for every bro who wants one. Porn makes her more of a trophy, more of a “Look what I gots!”
not a big star wars fan eh?
“not a big star wars fan eh?
Not a big fan of Hollywood trivia or living in a movie made 35 years ago, pardon me all to hell, ROFL.
You couldn’t even have the class or courtesy to just answer my damn question, could you? You just had to ridicule someone, didn’t you? What an asshole.
I could maybe understand ridiculing another Freeper for not knowing something IMPORTANT, like what the U.S. Constitution says about this or that, but ridiculing another FReeper (or anybody, for that matter) for not knowing the name of a creature from a pop culture movie made 35 years ago is tacky, rude and childish.
I didn’t see it as ridicule, fwiw.
It’s ok.They’ll just dig up Byrd and run him again.Ala Toricelli(replace a sure loser after the deadline),Carnahan run the dead guy and appoint his wife(surprised Massachusetts didn’t to this with the Swimmer) the Democrat Crime Syndicate rolls along.
“I could maybe understand ridiculing another Freeper for not knowing something IMPORTANT...”
I don’t think it was an attack on your post at all :-)! I just think they were amused by someone not knowing what a wookie is, that’s all. I doubt they were laughing at you. I personally refer to the First Lady as a “Grue”, but I also prefer other forms of fiction ;-).
I did like your response though. I loved Star Wars, but I know of some people that live, breathe, and eat that universe up and I feel for them :-)! You would have given them a heart attack :-)!
wiw is zip. If there’d been an actual answer first, and then the comment, it wouldn’t have been ridicule/sarcastic/childish cut.
I just thought you overreacted and was trying to defuse the situation by offering an objective reaction to a rather harmless post that set you off.
Sorry to butt in to your issues. Carry on, FRiend, and best of luck!
goodness gracious!!! if THAT was ridicule, I’m afraid to ever post anything !!!!!
that didn’t even come close.... and he was kind enough to answer your question instead of just ignoring it..... you must have been having a really bad day....
I’m almost afraid to ask after the other poster got their head bitten off, but what is a grue? :)
Plus, there have been 6 star wars movies, the latest “revenge of the sith: was released in 2005, and that's not even counting offshoots like “clone wars” that are running on TV currently.
Seriously, I can't imagine anyone born after 1960 that wouldn't know what a wookie was.
S/he didn’t answer my question. S/he thought it was funny that I didn’t know what or who a wookie is. I still don’t know, except that it’s from Star Wars. The difference between when I asked the question and now is that I no longer have even a mild curiosity as to who or what it is - a group or type of creature or a specific character.
What I got in response was the observation that I wasn’t a fan of Star Wars (that being the only clue as to what the answer to my question might be) and a “ROFL”. I don’t see any humor in somebody not knowing Star Wars trivia. Just because that poster thinks it’s important doesn’t give him/her the right to laugh at those who don’t know or care about it. If the reply has been something along the lines of, “Wookie is ________________ from Star Wars, that’s why Michelle reminds me of Wookie (or a wookie). I guess you’re not a fan of Star Wars, oh well, lol!”, I’d have had no problem. But to not answer a simple question on a topic you (the poster) raised, and make an observation about the person asking as though they’re ignorant of something important, and then laugh at them for it is rude and childish.
If you can’t figure that out, then you must be from the same galaxy s/he’s living in......far, far away. I mean, I could laugh at you and ridicule you for not understanding how normal discourse goes, but I’m not going to do that.
But.....lol......you’re obviously nor afraid to ever post anything as you suggest or you wouldn’t have even jumped in on this subject if you were.
I think you need to read this thread again. I wasn’t the one having a bad day; I was replying to someone who was clearly having a bad day.
I was born before 1960. I saw Star Wars. I liked it a lot, but that was long ago in another galactic time in my life.
The fact that I asked you what a wookie is should have been a big red flag that I didn’t know what a wookie is, so it matters not when I was born nor how many Star Wars movies have been made. The way it works is like this: Most people don’t ask a question they already know the answer to.
I’m not having a bad day. I just don’t suffer fools......any day.
To understand my shock, imagine if you had made a comment comparing someone to John Wayne, and someone had responded.. Who's John Wayne?
Grrrr ... SNAP GROWL BARK OBAMA! :-P
A grue was an evil monster in a very old computer game series called “Zork”. This was back before adventure games had graphics. They were all text based (i.e. you’d read the story ... again, absolutely no graphics ... not even ASCII based graphics). The user would enter basic commands like “go north”, “get sword”, etc. to move through the world :-)!
They were great stories with some cool puzzles. I loved those games growing up. I am a computer engineer by trade ... learning how those games worked taught me a lot about computer programming (arrays, garbage collection, etc).
I would have posted a photo of him and briefly explained that he was the master actor of the film genre of westerns, that his career spanned 6 decades, he was conservative and that he took on a cultural personae of being the hero riding in to make everything right.
Once again, if someone asks a question, it’s logical to assume they don’t know the answer. It has nothing to do with what generation they’re from.
If someone asked me who John Wayne is, I would simply answer the question and privately (meaning only in my own mind) speculate that the person asking is a younger person. I certainly wouldn’t just blow them off by laughing at them, observing that they’re not a fan of westerns, and not answer their question.
So maybe you’re right. Maybe it is a “generational thing”, just not in the way you thought.
But if it circulates in the local media, that may be enough - at least in West Virginia.
I thought I was writing to him/her..... I apologize...
***The $150 million road has been under construction for several years and connects I-79 to Fairmont, which is Manchin’s hometown.
Larry Puccio, Manchin’s former chief of staff and current chair of the Democratic Party in West Virginia, also runs a real estate business in Fairmont. Sources believe Puccio could be part of the probe.***
Poor Old Robert Byrd he would be shocked - this is one for the road!!!
Are you ridiculing me??!! :)
Dang - Join the club!
Looks like Fairmont is full of political pollution as well as industrial pollution. Time to clean up and out the political pollution. More harmful to our country than environmental pollution which can be handled by burning, removal, or burial.
Hey that sounds like a good solution for politicians who pollute. Now why didn’t I think of that?
Soon-to-be-ex-Gov. Joe Manchin ping. Thanks TonyInOhio.
“Social acquaintance”....... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Righhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhht. Tell me another one, Congressman!
Han Solo's large furry co-pilot, Chewbecca, Was a wookie.
I see you’re another fan of incivility. This thread is replete with them. :)
Has anybody ever investigayed Jay Rockefeller?
