Good observations, but my head still won't let me believe she can possibly win. And, if by some miracle, she does, it won't be the first time my head has been wrong and my heart has been right.

She smacked down the bloviating buffoon BOR very neatly.
*****************************************************
She sure did and that alone made me very satisfied....he needs to put out to pasture along with all those old RINO’s.
Poor BOR...wondering if his days are numbered!

I work for lawyers who do pro bono work.

Are we supposed to be impressed?

Christine O'Donnell is not a lawyer. When she works "pro bono" she is working on behalf of a client who is not paying her anything for the service she renders, but it is nonetheless a service for which she would otherwise normally be compensated.

The shysters you work for do "pro bono" for some clients and make it all up by billing the hell out of others.

Somehow I think Christine is more accustomed to providing truly charitable services to others unable to pay her adequately for them, as opposed to lawyers who by their nature practice within a profession, which is not generally known for its charitable outreach.

Yes. She did run a write-in campaign in 2006 Senate race, against the DE GOP establishment’s G*d awful choice (Ting) and DE Dem candidate (Tom Carper). She was considered NOT a party player ever since.

As for the 2008 run against Biden, DE GOP did a piss poor job of support her (she’s the only one crazy enough to run). And she got 35% of the vote in the HopenChange cycle.

If nothing esle, she DOES have spunk.

Hey, what are you talking about!! Lord Krauthammer has spoken. It’s O’Donnell’s fault that the GOP won’t control the Senate this year. Of course, he wasn’t talking about the GOP taking control of the Senate BEFORE O’Donnell won the primary, BUT SHE’S LOST IT. The voters in Delaware voted illogically, if they wanted the GOP to control the Senate.

Yes, I realize that.

And lawyers cannot just make up time to bill — deep, deep trouble. That’s not as easy as you think.

If we have problems all over the place in November, if we don’t get tea party turnout. If all of the reasons why so many people are so pissed off somehow go away. Then we don’t pick up many seats at all, and Christine has those same problems. I think the tea party candidates win. I think DioGuardi could win.

Not too optimistic about Cam in Hawaii. Not too optimistic about Schumers seat. Not too optimistic about MD. Could have better candidates there.

Feeling good about the others. And I don’t know how a pollster is going to get a good sample of likely voters. We know that the Republican Primaries were full of people who didn’t vote in 2008. And they aren’t calling those people likely voters. So I just say “we do better than the polls say”. But I don’t have any way to prove that or any way to tell how much.

It is a crime how much double billing goes on in the legal profession.

Hillary Clinton herself was the "rainmaker" at the Rose Law Firm, because she could figure out ways to bill as much as 40 hours per day.

Yes, you read that right. 40 hrs per day.

Whatever it is that you "realize" about anything I wrote, you can't be too deep into the legal profession if you aren't aware of how the billing game is so often played.

It is one of many reasons why lawyers have the generally negative reputation that they do.

I did go back and listen to the whole interview. She really was quite good. She was poised and had a pretty good answer for the questions he asked.

I thought she did touch on the Constitution. I thought she talked on limited government too, but I could be wrong.

Your suggestions are in line with my thoughts. Actually, I thought she did well enough she didn’t need to brush up much more, but any addition would be a positive.

I’m not sure how I managed it, but I landed on Anderson Cooper and he was talking about her evasion of the press. “All I really want is for her to address the public. She wants to represent the people. They need to know.”

Two years in and we don’t know squat about Obama’s actual birth-place, who paid for his college education, or why he keeps bowing and apologizing for the nation he represents.

Oh, I just enter their time for their bills and process their bills is all.

You would be surprised how much time is not billed and how much time they write-off for clients.

Did she talk about her ex boyfriend being an entertainment lawyer, and the snarky rumors about her wanting to get on Fox?

From where, exactly, did those rumors come? The ex-boyfriend, or maybe his new girlfriend? If from him, or from the campaign aide who was fired after two weeks, I'd discount anything that was said, unless it was verified by someone else.

You might be surprised by how little work they actually did for the time they have submitted to bill.

Anyone in business for themselves will write off time now and then, but a good accountant will also figure out ways to expense such things under business development "costs."

It's really no different in the context of lawyers.

Are you their tax accountant as well or do you just look at a ledger cut the checks?

You are correct.

In addition, clients are questioning their bills now than ever and have certain budgeted amounts.

The DioGuardi race against Gillibrand is one that no one has as a possible pick up. Why don’t people talk about that one?
Not to say that’s more interesting than Christine. But it does have Kara DioGuardi who was on the most popular TV show every week.

Obviously the neocons don’t care about giving the GOP more seats.

What can we do, conservative republicans do, to get rid of Krauthammer and Kristol and all the rest. Those 2 are tolerable to us. But according to the polls, what those 2 neocons did did have an effect, at least short term, in the polls with Republicans. How are they helping? How did bitching about Christine being a Christian or whatever it was that bugged them help get Castle elected?

It was one thing for the RINO Castle to attack Christine before the primary. Yes, it was way too nasty. But at least there was a reason. Try to destroy her in order to win. With the neocons, the RINO already lost. What were they trying to gain?

I thought that, possibly, it was a “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” strategy. But then this Fox poll comes out showing that the neocon attacks on Christine did have a negative effect. What? It wasn’t a little skit, complicated but effective? It was repulsive neocons attacking a beautiful young woman who we all like. Woah, Fox. You letting this happen? You think we like this? If Christine doesn’t win (and I think she should win), it’s on the shoulders of the neocons on Fox. We should be calling for their scalps in November. Till then, the proof is in the pudding and I’m confident that Christine gets the disapprove Obama and plenty enough to win.

It’s not possible for lawyers to get behind on personal bills when doing pro bono work?

It just tickles my funny bone that I had mentioned this luncheon here on FreeRepublic the other day. Then she mentions the same luncheon on Hannity and I sure am glad you remembered it.

It’s the monthly Sussex county Republican Women’s Club.

and yes I shall be there!

She did touch on the Constitution and limited government.

But I thought it was a little weaker than it could be. Like she was just hitting a bullet point “the Constitution”. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t quite as good as the other stuff. She is really good at this stuff. And she should be, seeing as this was her job, off and on I guess, for 15 years.

They just repeated parts of the interview on Greta and the house 2008 answer was even better the second time. I would call the 2008 house matter settled. The details are settled upon, and why it happened was 100% fully explained. She wanted to save someones life and wanted to save America from Obama and she lost her house because of it. Perfect. Feel free anyone to run that video over and over again.

I was “critical” of some of her earlier explanations which relied on “I am an average person with problems like yours”.
I recommended a shift to something like this. I heard the explanation, and I thought it was great. The explanation was a home run.

She’s on top of it. It’s a plus now. She lost her house to save someone’s life and to fight Obiden. We should admire her for doing that. A person who does that is someone we want to be Senator.

I agree, she certainly did very well and answered every question. No hedging or beating around the bush.

I hope all the voters in DE give her their support!
