Christine O'Donnell's Younger Years: Forget Witchcraft, Think Media Godess
Politics Daily ^ | 24/9/10 | Suzi Parker

Bless her heart. Christine O'Donnell has a lot of people angry at her -- Wiccans, Satanists, Bill Maher, and even some Republicans.

No small feat, but reflecting on O'Donnell's history, it's par for the course.

Maher made an appearance on "Hardball With Chris Matthews" Tuesday night to discuss O'Donnell, who made more than 20 appearances on his "Politically Incorrect" show years ago. Over the weekend, O'Donnell, who is the Republican Senate nominee in Delaware, said she made comments like the one about dabbling in witchcraft to help Maher with ratings.

Maher called foul.

"It's funny to me, Chris, because this is the woman who claimed on another one of our 'Politically Incorrect' episodes from the '90s that she would not lie, even in the case of hiding Anne Frank in her attic," Maher told Matthews. "Eddie Izzard confronted her and said, 'Really? If Hitler was at the door and you had Anne Frank in the attic, you wouldn't lie?' She said, 'No. God would find a way.' "

Perhaps, Maher did want ratings, but O'Donnell had her own agenda as a young, firebrand former Catholic-turned-Evangelical Christian pushing her message. She said on Sean Hannity's Fox News show Tuesday night that she viewed such appearances as a ministry and that she was excited back then about her new-found faith.

Some will laugh at her naivete, and likely doubt the veracity of her statement, but I know plenty of people who, in their teens and twenties in the Bible belt, tossed their heavy metal albums into the roaring fireplace and began quoting the Gospel.

So Wiccans, Satanists, Bill Maher, and even some Republicans don’t like O’Donnell?

Now add Chris Matthews and you’ve got like only a bigger group of dunces.

Everyone sees the story for what it is - a hit piece formed out of desperation.

She didn't say that. When she said she was helping Maher's ratings it was an off-hand joke and a reference to his current show.

media is just looking for ratings, after all O’Donnell is cute. If she were ugly, they wouldn’t even pay attention to her. They also want to steer away from bozo just to keep us in the dark.

“What makes me question her judgment is that she appeared on Politically Incorrect 20+ times. I hated that show.”

Exactly what I was thinking. Did she like the guy? Was she just fascinated at being on TV? Were her politics in line with Maher? Twenty shows!!! She was more than a guest. She was a member of the cast.

you actually think anyone that matters watches Chrissy Matthews???

his audience is a miniscule selection of hardcore ‘Rats

Matthews and Maher should just go in a back room and get each other off, b/c that’s all a show with the two of them is good for

“When I want my men to remember something important, to really make it stick, I give it to them double dirty. It may not sound nice to some bunch of little old ladies at an afternoon tea party, but it helps my soldiers to remember. You can’t run an army without profanity; and it has to be eloquent profanity. An army without profanity couldn’t fight its way out of a piss-soaked paper bag. ... As for the types of comments I make, sometimes I just, By God, get carried away with my own eloquence.”

Here’s how you keep jews in the attic w/o lying-

nazi: do you have jews in your attic?

citizen: I have juice in the refrigerator.

nazi: no, not juice, jews.

citizen: nuts are in the pantry, but no juice.

nazi: are you deaf, i mean jews.

citizen: i’m not deaf, but if you need juice you can have some.

After enough of this, the nazi leaves, or they break in and make a discovery, which you can’t help anyway.

Of course, if they wanted to break in, they wouldn’t have bothered asking to begin with. The trick is to not look guilty.

This is good stuff to know as our own government grows in power and our rights disappear...

Or if you go there, be sharp and poised and ready to kick his liberal butt.

My Congressional Representative, Jack Kingston, has gone on the show quite a few times. And I think it weakens him; makes him look like he’s courting the liberal’s favor.

It's like Odysseus and the Sirens. Conservatives/Republicans come to Washington, and are gradually lured into the liberal salons, where they are assimilated into the Beltway groupthink.

I used to think it was funny a loooong time ago. I never took anyone seriously. Didn’t she get paid? That would be a good reason to keep doing it.

Maher is trying to portray his ‘show’ as a serious show.

The girl is totally correct.

She (and many others) purposefully tried to say STUPID THINGS on a STUPID SHOW!

The show was called “POLITICALLY INCORRECT” - so they put people on for the EXPRESSED PURPOSE of saying STUPID THINGS!

The article pretty much says it all in that we all have known hyper-religious kids like this who go overboard, that doesn’t reflect who she is now. For goodness sake, she lives unmarried with her boyfriend- that is a pretty good indicator she isn’t the church camp kiddo any more.

Heck, just lie.. The Bible say’s not to “bear false witness against your neighbor”, in this case, you would be using false witness to save your neighbor- very different than using it against him.

Liberals have absolutely no concept of how Evangelicals think.

They seem to think that for some reason, Evangelicals will *reject* someone who says “Before I was ‘Born Again’, I was a sinner.”

Like I said, liberals have no clue. Being a sinner before they are Born Again totally *validates* Evangelicals in their own eyes. That’s the entire *purpose* to being Born Again. It’s called “redemption”.

Liberals crave to remain “in sin”, and want to delve ever deeper into it. They *adore* sin and corruption, and *abhor* redemption. Totally bizarre values, righteousness turned upside down.

The church of the liberals seeks to drag them into darkness and the absence of God. It boggles the mind as to what would inspire such a thing.

Other than liberals burning, bitter hate.

Didn’t she get paid? That would be a good reason to keep doing it. There are some things in life you shouldn't do for money. Making Bill Maher successful is one of them.

Same here. If I ran for office though, some jerk would probably find a way to dig it up.

Here’s my issue with O’Donnell. She said some NUTSO things on that show...and while I personally don’t care and would walk over hot coals to vote for her if I lived in DE, it’s stuff like this that gives ammo to the leftists claims that Tea Partiers are a bunch of 13th century Neanderthals.

Someone like, say, Joe Miller in AK does not have these things going on with him, but O’Donnell does.

Don’t get me wrong - I LIKE and have defended O’Donnell, but it’s hard to shake this. She gave great answers on Hannity the other night but can’t sit on her butt about this as it won’t go away.

She’s DAMN cute. Moreso than Palin I must say. Screw Gillibrand, she’ll be the “hottie” in the Senate if she wins.
