Of course, the whle piece is nothing more than navel gazing if the Republican enthusiasm wave sweeps Angle and ODonnell into office.
My problem with this analysis is that it presumes the country is centrist. But it’s not. This is a center-right country. As a consequence, people who are strong conservatives are not that far from the average person, who is center-right. By contrast, liberals are in a place FAR from where the average voter stands.
This is why the argument that either “extreme” is problematic fails. Conservatives simply arent extreme relative to the average American. But liberals sure are.
correct spelling of author’s last name is Radosh
A. Removes any cover for Blue Dog Democrats to hide from dumb libtard policies threaten them getting re-elected and thwarts any attempt by either the Pubbie elites to be "bipartisan" (which personally to me, is synonymous with bi-sexual) or the One from getting his way at all
The goal is not to win just this one election cycle but to set up a pattern where Congress will have to commit itself to either reform or where they just retire (you don't have to go away mad, just go away). The libtards know they are on a shot clock and the numbers are ticking down. If they could not get all that they wanted in 2008, they realize that 2010 and worse 2012 will not make it better for them or their policies.
B. A narrow majority for them means the tactical plan of blame, Blaming Bush, Blaming Rush, Blaming Beck, Blaming Palin and the Tea Party will not WASH their failures away. While having a pubbie majority allows them to pick off bi-partisan rinos to achieve their legislative goals or to cover their rear ends when their socialist policies fail.
They only now realize that the Conservative resurgence or Counter Revolution against their utopia is underway and the question is which will reach victory first. Can we save nation before they can flush it down the toilet? I do not have to catalogue the endless litany of failure, which is the progressive movement, but the global issue of nuclear armament if Iran should be something of great concern. Ahmanutjob, virtually stated his goal is annihilation of Israel (and by extension the USA) at the UN. The left barely noticed, not even an eyebrow moved at Foggy Bottom. When the first suit case nuke or missile goes off over an American city what do think will happen then to healthcare, green jobs or folks trying to switch us from french fries to carrot sticks?
Radosh is usually a clear thinker, but he’s wrong here. First, what in the world would possess anyone to think that the sitting majority leader would be “easy?” Not gonna happen. It was always going to be a dogfight. Second, the comparisons to McGovern are ludicrous (No, not the rapper). It does you no good to get a “majority” if in fact it won’t VOTE like a majority. So forget issues of “ideological purity,” the only issue is WILL THEY VOTE WITH THE REPUBLICANS and the answer for idiots like Castle and Murkowski is no.
What are the odds polesters "nudge" their findings..
not out and out boot licking like the main stream media .
More like the nudging the college professors do..
OK.. OK.. some of them boot lick too..
Capturing the Senate from our current position will be a tall order in one election. But one thing’s guaranteed...the word “filibuster” will be uttered often in that august body in the next two years.

You got that right. Two or three more like Snowe would accomplish what? They'd be on the "fix Obamacare don't repeal it" bandwagon in a heartbeat and that's the last thing we need. It seems to me that a lot of people are having a hard time understanding just how slim a thread things are hanging by. What may have been sound strategy several years ago is absurd now that people no longer believe that "business as usual" is ever going to gradually re-float the ship that it ran aground.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and democrat fascists have date raped Lady Liberty nearly to death. If too many elections are stolen, too many who are elected become "centrists", and real change doesn't become obvious after 2012, the American people who are madly in love with Lady Liberty are going to display a lot more anger than anger at the polls. And take note, it isn't a small minority like the sixties radicals were able to mobilize who are now angry, it's the vast majority of the people in this country.

>> Having a majority in the Senate without having working majority does nothing but give RINOs powerful committee chairmanships <<
Does nothing? Get real.
A Republican majority — even one with five or six self-admitted “moderates” — would make Jeff Sessions chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. What’s not to like about that?
(Or would you prefer that Pat “Leaky” Leahy remain as chairman of Judiciary and be in a position to see that Obama’s terrible judicial nominations get approved?)
Mike Pence speech on the presidency:
http://vimeo.com/15202566
“The President of the United States of America bows to no man.
You do not bow to kings.
When in foreign lands, you do not criticize your own country.
You do not argue the case against the United States, but, rather, the case for it.
You do not apologize to the enemies of the United States.
Should you be confused, a country, people, or region that harbors, shelters, supports, encourages, or cheers attacks upon our country, the slaughter of our children, our mothers, our fathers, our sisters, and brothers
are enemies of the United States. And, to repeat, you do not apologize to them.”
