WASHINGTON Democratic candidates across the country are opening a fierce offensive of negative advertisements against Republicans, using lawsuits, tax filings, reports from the Better Business Bureau and even divorce proceedings to try to discredit their opponents and save their Congressional majority.
Opposition research and attack advertising are used in almost every election, but these biting ads are coming far earlier than ever before, according to party strategists. The campaign has intensified in the last two weeks as early voting begins in several states and as vulnerable incumbents try to fight off an onslaught of influences by outside groups.
As they struggle to break through with economic messages, many Democrats are deploying the fruits of a yearlong investigation into the business and personal histories of Republican candidates in an effort to plant doubts about them and avoid having races become a national referendum on the performance of President Obama and his party.

They're out of bullets gang! They are now resorting to shooting blanks.
They don't even have to research all they have to do is to tell the truth.
Stupid ads like that will not get their vote out. They have to offer more freebies.
A clear pciture has emerged: the Democrat party is all about retaining their power by any means they can find, so they will commit illegal acts in order to have private documents to expose to public array, knowing the effect retains their power so they can squelch the court proceedings which follow their illicit activities used to manipulate elections. The new black panther case is but an example of this democrat behavior used to manipualte the stupid ‘Homer Simpson’ electorate. The opening of an Illinois candidate’s divorce proceedings to get Barry the BAstard Boy elected as an Illionois Senator is another. And there are countless other examples in Washington State, Tennessee, California, Massatwoshits, Texas ... actually, I wonder if there is even a state where the democrat criminal enterprise machine has not done this?
This is precisely what zero did when running for Congress in his home state. Its Alinsky at its finest. Where do you think the RATS got the idea?
Colin Powell had the nerve to say that John McCain ran negative ads during the election of 2008. Guess he didn’t know about zero’s past history. Seems he’s pretty quiet right about now about the desperation the DEMS are showing.
What did Christ Jesus say about casting stones? let those who have never sinned cast the first stone. And have these guys ever sinned!
‘RAT 2010 campaign slogan. “MUD! It’s All We’ve Got!”
“Democratic candidates across the country are opening a fierce offensive of negative advertisements against Republicans, using lawsuits, tax filings, reports from the Better Business Bureau and even divorce proceedings to try to discredit their opponents and save their Congressional majority. “
Oh... Good Ole’ Chicago politics. Exactly the same tactics that Obama used against Jack (and Jerry) Ryan.
Don’t bother to read the comments at the link. NYT,,,,, sheesh!
That is all what the rats can do, fight dirty. If they can’t fight clean then they don’t deserve to get one vote
Excellent post
Great point
Well the repubics better ratchet up the message on our side and start pointing out the dims present and what they have done, are doing and intend to do with our Nation.
Democrats - No budget proposed! Bush tax cut extension not dealt with! Health care bill forced on us! Wasted stimulus!
And they have the gall to dig dirt on us?
That’s nothing. Obama killed a fly on national TV.
Boy they MUST be desperate. I expected this garbage the week before the election.
Bring it on!!!
NObama obtained a SEALED divorce record to hit his opponent for the ILLINOIS Senate seat.
Son’t know why he wasn’t sued over that alone.
