Where in the h*ll were the Repubs in Congress when the Dems inserted the 4% tax on homes sold into the government health care takeover bill?
I'm so angry about this that I am spitting nails. Where were all of the bold new young gun GOP House leaders? Where was His Ladyship McConnell who bowed to Reid's every whim? Couldn't just one of these negligently nefarious hired hands have read the bill and ferreted out this outrage.
It could have been a game-breaker. It could have stopped the bill and exposed the Dems for the greedy, grasping, anti-middle class vultures they are. But, not one Repub bothered to speak up!
I'm posting this because I know that all of the top conservative TV and radio talk show hosts follow FR. And I would like them to bring on the Repubs and ask them point-blank: Where were you when the sh*t hit the fan? And why did you let us down?

There were so many screwed up paragraphs in this bill no one could attack them all. certainly the republicans could have poossibly done a better job, but who passed this thing to begin with , that should be where your anger lies.

But the real point is that given the speed and secrecy (and overwhelming Democrat majorities to maintain that speed and secrecy) with which the legislation was passed, NOBODY knew everything that was in it....not even the Democrats. The Dems should be kicked out of office just for that, if nothing else.
The bill passed in the middle of the night was over 2000 pages. No one had time to read it. How quickly some forget.

I remember Nanzi Pelowsi distinctly saying to find out what was in the bill, it had to be passed before we could find out what was in it. Excuse me, but what am I missing here?
Now if this was an ammendment voted on by the Congress before the bill was passed then you have an issue.
If you were awake when the bill passed, you might recall that NOBODY had the time to read the bill before it was passed.
The dems were repeatedly challenged on the fact that they had not read the bill they authored. Of course, the media didn’t care, as they were too busy celebrating teh passing of “obamacare”.
Little “gems”, like this 3.8% sales tax on home sales, begining in 2013, HAVE been reported, but it took a while to uncover, in the 2500 page bill.
The GOP loves to sit on the sidelines and let the Democrats take the blame for bigger government.
Anyhow, I can't remember the specifics but I remember it being on proceeds over a certain dollar amount. I think it was the cap gains limit of $250k per person. Correct me if I am wrong anyone.

Exactly! And don’t forget to mention that even MOST of the Democrats did not know what was in that bill. It was, for the most part, a massive bill written in secret by those with an agenda.
They should be running more ads about this increase.
Do you remember Nancy Pelosi’s comment that Obamacare had to pass before we could see what was in it? The massive bill was stitched together by the leadership outside of the normal committee process. The Republicans did not get but a few hours to review the bill before the vote, and, in the event, they voted no but were outvoted.
Exactly MNJohnnie! And let’s not forget no one had actually read the Bill except for a few FReepers! Remember Pelosi’s, “We have to pass the bill to find out what is in it”!
