Obama: Teacher unions can help boost schools

WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama says teachers' unions can be part of the solution to problem schools. He says unions have often been resistant to change as they try to protect their members—but that many of them are now working with states on reforms including charter schools, and imposing higher standards and accountability. In an interview Monday with NBC's "Today" show, Obama said the message to unions needs to be that they can't defend a status quo in which a third of students are dropping out.

I have always supported school choice....union vs. none union school....we will see which school is better

What universe is he from? In New York, the biggest impediment to Charter schools, higher standards, and accountability are the Teacher Unions.
