WASHINGTONPresident Barack Obama says teachers' unions can be part of the solution to problem schools. He says unions have often been resistant to change as they try to protect their membersbut that many of them are now working with states on reforms including charter schools, and imposing higher standards and accountability. In an interview Monday with NBC's "Today" show, Obama said the message to unions needs to be that they can't defend a status quo in which a third of students are dropping out.

many of them are working with states to find solutions Yeah. In New Jersey, their solution is to pray that Governor Christie drops dead, and to whine at him at town halls that they aren't paid enough.
