Greg Smith, 46 from New York, has supported Barack Obama since the now-president announced his bid for the White House in 2007. But three years later the diehard Obamaniac has a sober admission: hes losing hope.
In 2007, the New York Post featured Smiths story he was a converted Clinton supporter that left his work as a hotel doorman to campaign for Obama. Obama read the story and asked Smith to introduce him at a campaign event and also tell his story. He did, began campaigning for Obama full-time, and even was present backstage during the Democratic National Convention speech in Denver.
Obama won the election. Life was great hope and change were alive. But now, reality has set in, and Smith back at his old job wonders aloud to the Post what happened:
Two years later, Im living a more sober reality.
My life is not better. Im a college graduate and I still cant get a good job.
Im back working as a doorman at a Manhattan hotel earning peanuts because my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and I need the health insurance again.
I share the same sentiments of Velma Hart, the woman who confronted Obama at a town hall last week, saying she was tired of defending him. The idea of leaving New York is even on the table.
Obama has let professional politicians take over the White House and our dream of change.

A college degree in doormanism?
In this case, an Uncle Tom.
So Obama didnt have health insurance for his campaign staff?
He campaigned full time for Obama yet he wasnt offered a federal job?
Even now this dope refuses to learn about the realities of Obama and what this means to his life. As they continue to support the destructive nature of Progressives they will continue to get the change they vote for and not the change they wanted.
As the old saying goes, if you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.
“Im back working as a doorman at a Manhattan hotel earning peanuts because my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and I need the health insurance again.”
Good luck with that. ObamaCare pretty much will mean an end to Avastin for the treatment of for breast cancer.
Well Obama got the women’s vote.
Union jobs at that...
I think you’re on to something there. All my adult life I’ve seen minorities treated to an “entitlement buffet” that really was more entrapping and soul-stealing than empowering or gratifying. Whole generations of people raised to expect someone to wipe their butts and clean their messes when (not if) they screw up.
It has to be hard on any sense of self respect.
Couple that with the insidious narcotic of the boob-tube that lulls you to sleep with sweet dreams and delicious lies - it’s a wonder any of them can function at all.
Who was it that said “It’s all good until you run out of other people’s money”?!
“Union jobs at that..”
Yep, exclusivity like the Projectionists Union.
Greg Smith, 46, from New York, is just about what you’d expect. He’s from New York. He has supported Barack Obama since the now-president announced his bid for the White House in 2007. But he has heard the words of the immortal Thomas Sowell, and has recognized the wisdom contained therein:
Those who look only at Obama’s deeds tend to become Obama’s critics.
Why do these stories keep appearing about supporters of Obama who supported him and their situations did not improve so they are disillusioned as if they are not going to vote for him again. Both of these clowns who were dumb enough to support him the first time will vote for him again.
That was Margaret Thatcher.
You bet he asked for it.
He LEFT his job to campaign for this goof.
WAAH. There are whole lot of us who have been trying to hang on to their jobs and lost them because of this angry kenyan and he left his job.
deal with it.
I have no sympathy for this guy. The Democrats in Congress (of whom Obama was one) created this mess. And they have only made it worse since Obama became President. He's disappointed in Obama, but doesn't understand even now that Obama is a disaster for this country.
